The Consistency is buttery and it smell like a coconut oil creamsicle. You can use it for braid outs, twists outs & anything "out". I applied it to the length of hair and saturated ends while braiding. I used the product on dry, second-day wash and go hair. It comes in a solid form so in order to melt it I rubbed it on the back of my hand after scraping it with my finger. I prefer to rub it on the back of my hand over rubbing it in my palms. Don't ask why, idk, I just like it lol I applied the product to each individual section as I braided my hair in 18 plaids and made sure to saturate my ends. When I released my hair is the morning it was left very moisturized and soft. I neeeeeeeds a trim but until I find the time to get one this functions as a great sealant and style product. I will continue to use it to seal my freshly trimmed ends. Love it!

4a / 4b hair. I've been natural for about...4+ years. I've used the sculpting butter twice, in two ways. You can wet your hair, apply, and leave it in to "sculpt" your curls, or you can use it as a conditioner of some sorts; after you shampoo, you can leave it in for 5-10 minutes. Wetting hair: When I first used this product, I had shampooed a couple days prior and decided my hair was not sufficient for going out, and decided to wet my hair and try the sculpter. I don't use products to style my hair; usually, I will shampoo or simply wet it if I want to wear it down. I have used a product to style previously and have had bad experience because it was too greasy, or left areas of my hair too frizzy. I wet my hair and applied the sculpting butter. One thing that was my fault - I used too much. It was somewhat difficult to apply to the hair because the product isn't creamy, so I kept putting on more because i was unsure if I had put it all over my head. Well I did. It took awhile for my hair to dry and when it did, I loved how my curls were defined. But my head was heavy and my 'fro was flattened. A little to flat for my taste, and next time, I will apply less. On the other hand, the next day, I loved the way my hair looked! It was still heavy with product, but my curls had released a bit, were a little longer, and my 'fro expanded. Conditioning: I was prepared this time. I was not going to apply as much product in my hair. I shampooed with some sulfate-free shampoo, and decided to apply the sculpting butter as a conditioner. I applied a smaller amount to my hair and left it in for five minutes. After my hair dried, it was still a flatter 'fro, though I still liked the look. I think I need to get more into the groove of using this sculpting butter, as I would use it again. It is a quick product that gives good results. The only issue I really have it the ability to spread it evenly across my hair, as it is definitely not a butter cream texture, more like a butter stick texture that you have left in the fridge. The definition of the curl shape is great.
