I don't know what this stuff is, but it's not a leave-in or anything close. I was searching for a Kiehl's product to replace their discontinued Leave-in Conditioner with Panthenol & Coconut Oil. I bought this before I knew anything about lanolin, but several of its ingredients are variations of lanolin. It just left my hair dry and stressed out. For 4Bs, I find that the Hair Conditioner Grooming Aid Formula 133 is a more suitable replacement for their discontinued leave-in.

I have been using Kiehl's Silk Groom for years...back in the day when I blew my hair straight, it gave great moisture & shine...now, as a curly, I use it differently but it's still reliable. It's not a styling cream and is not meant to offer hold. It is perfect for those warm, low humidity or windy days when my curls seem dry and flyaway...a dollop of this rubbed between my palms, then scrunched into the top layer of my curls works great.

I don't think most people know how to deal with this product. First of all, I would like to say that I have owned ONE bottle for over 6 years!! Secondly, this stuff is for moisturizing, and curl definition, nothing else, if you're looking for a gel or a leave-in, look elsewhere. I literally use the size of a pen cap (maybe slightly less) when I apply this to my hair, and it works. Anything more is going to weigh your hair down and make you hate it. I have fine 3b hair and I can count on this stuff to help me with dry hair in the wintertime. I haven't found anything to take its place. So it definitely has its niche.

one of my all time favorites.Gives me good definition ,moisture and shine. If you have alot of thick hair or really long, a quarter size will do.You have to really work it in.Think of it has a body cream for your hair.

I was disappointed with this product... It left my curls stringy and greasy. I would say it would make your hair shiney if you like that slick type of look :( It did seem moisturizing and might be better for more texturized hair then mine.

My all-time most favorite product for adding a bit of moisture and shine to already dry curls. It's also a wonderful aid for helping to smooth curls up into a ponytail or an updo. This product does not take the place of a gel or mousse for styling/defining curls. It's really more of a 'finishing' aid.

When I used it to straighten it provided too much moisture and my hair kept a lot of it's wave. So I thought I'd get a good curl from it -but alas, when I used it to curl then it's kind of dulling. It's almost as if it attracts dust! While I didn't use enough to make my hair greasy it was nontheless sticky and dull. I did use the whole bottle as a sort of weak pomade.

it is ok--decent creme for moisture under my Rockin Ringlets or I just need a break from gel.

This product seems overpriced and it doesn't work. No hold, just somewhat greasy. And it smells like medicine.

Good curl formation. Use in moderation! A little goes a long way, and a lot yields bigtime stickiness.

This styling crème had no hold, gave me no shine, but did provide some level of moisture if I used more than the required amount. It did nothing for defining curls.

Be careful of how much you use or else it'll give you greasy hair. It's a good finishing product but does not take the place of a gel or mousse for me.
