An amazing product. I'm actually a little embarrassed because I forgot to mention it in my KBB Creamylicious review when listing alternate products that I use. I've been using Sophia's for two years now and I find it works best for me in the Summer, Spring and Fall as an all over sealant, scalp grease, ends hydrator and finisher delivering super sheen. For some reason, it leaves my ends a bit frizzy and tangled in the winter (for wet sets) and I think that is because of the humectant honey meeting with super dry climates (i.e. Midwest). On the East Coast, I didn't have that problem. I therefore stick to classic shea butter in the winter, as it helps 4a/4b hair retain length in the driest climates. Sophia's Hair Grease has improved the health of my hair overall (coily 4a/4b), given me a healthy sheen, helped my ends tangle less, and always leaves a clean scent of fresh peaches in my hair. I alternate this with the KBB Creamylicious (see my review) over my Oyin Hair Dew leave-in on wet hair, and find the KBB more versatile since it is less sticky. However, the Sophia's Hair Grease has helped me to retain length and softened even the driest hair at the crown of my head. It is also great for twisting and delivers a punch of moisture and conditioning with the least amount of product and price. The sunflower butter, olive oil and other ingredients completely absorb into my hair over the course of the week and leave it conditioned and full of sheen. A little is all you need. It mixes well with most things, can be used as a heat protectant, and I even use it underneath KCCC (mostly in the Fall/Winter) to give me shiny, but soft coils. With this product and the KBB cream, I no longer need to purchase commercial deep conditioners since the Sophia's and KBB cream condition my hair all week as I use them for moisture and style.
A nightmare of a product. Greasiest grease that ever greased. Super heavy and sticky, very hard to rinse out and didn't do anything good for hair. I used it couple of years ago and still have places in my apartment where this grease remains because it's impossible to scrub off (after throwing out the grease I tried to at least save the jar to reuse it, and tried to wash it, but it was impossible no matter what cleaning product I used, and then wherever I accidentally touched with rubber gloves I was wearing this grease stuck to and won't come off. Had to throw away the gloves too because it wouldn't come off of them. Maybe this is meant to be used just once on hair and never washed off for the rest of one's life. I spend a long time and used a ton of clarifying shampoo washing it out).
