Sooo sorry this has not received better reviews. My hair type is 4c and I have been using this product and the curl cream together. I like the way it defines my curls and leaves a low gloss shine. I apply the two of them twice/weekly, do a two-strand twist, braid my twists in 6 big sections, then sleep with a satin bonnet. I have been looking for a product that can produce curls with staying power. Right now, after one week, I love it.

The gel dried out my hair. Was also unimpressed with the low quality ingredients. Very disappointing.

1 star for being "silicone free" bit containing dimethicone. Very misleading.
