I have been using the regular JBCO for a while, but decided to try the extra dark. I am so glad I did! Although I was getting good results with the regular JBCO, I am experiencing faster hair growth in my thinning areas with the extra dark. I highly recommend the extra dark JBCO for hair growth.
I have been using this for a few months now, and I have not decided if I have experienced all of the benefits of this product yet. I use it as pre-shampoo treatment, and I also use it on the ends of my hair to seal the twist out. I read that it is good for promoting hair growth, so I have been applying a little on my eyebrows and my hair line. I plan to continue using it for a while and see what happens.
My favorite JBCO of the different types of oils offered! I see way more progress in the thickening of hairline. Very moisturizing, however, use sparingly or mix with other moisturizers because if you use too much your hair can feel sticky. Especially if you use it to seal in your conditioner. Smell is stronger too, reminds me of ashes. Since I use nice smelling leave in conditioners, I don't mind the scent.
I absolutely love the Sunny Isle Jamaican extra dark castor oil. I've just been using it a little over a week and I can see dramatic improvement in the texture and moisture level in my hair. My hair is soft to touch and even the color is more vivid, no longer dull. I wear locs and like to use ACV to deep cleanse my hair which can be drying. Add to that, a cold winter and you can guess how my hair felt. I read so many good reviews on this product, I had to try it. I'm so glad I did. I used the JBCO every day on my scalp for a week and could already tell the difference. Then, I shampooed/conditioned my hair and followed by putting the JBCO in my hair and sitting under the dryer for 15 minutes as a hot oil treatment. However, instead of rinsing my hair, I left it in since my color-treated hair had been so dry lately. My hair was not greasy at all. This added the perfect amount of moisture and remained soft to the touch after my hair dried. I highly recommend that you try the JBCO.
I mixed this with Shea Moisture deep conditioning, olive oil and honey. Let sit on my hair for an hour. After the rinse my hair felt like silk! Detaingle time going was a breeze. Amazed!
I absolutely love this product! I use it right when I finish washing my when it is still wet and it keeps my hair so soft and moisturized the whole week until my next wash day. When my hair was shorter, used it on my scalp daily for it extra growth properties. Nowadays, i just use it for keeping my hair soft. My kinky hair is extremely hard to moisturize let alone maintain the moister and this product does the job. It is a permanent staple product of mine!
I love this product I have been using this since my transition to fully natural, brilliant stuff!
This oil is so rich and thick! Perfect for scalp massages but not necessarily for sealing. If you want to seal with jbco, it's better to use the regular jbco because that one is lighter!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this oil. I use it on my roots, edges and in my deep conditioners. It does have a weird smell, like ashes, but it does not linger. Very thick and rich.
Love this product... from hot oil treatments, eyebrows, thining hair, eye lashes Get it!!! Point blank PERIOD
Awesome oil! I am using it to regrow my edges and a spot on the crown of my head. I would like to use this as a pre poo as well. This oil keeps my hair moisturized and soft.
For naturalistas especially those with coily locks or fragile edges, this product should be a staple. I am not a believer in "Holy Grails" but if I were, then this JBCO would be one of my main ones. JBCO leaves hair soft and silky and conditions in a way that no dc can ever do--it nourishes the scalp and is excellent in hot oil treatments, pre poos, oil rinses (but too pricey for that) hair spa treatments, steam treatments, as a sealer, hair thickener and makes a great softener after a protein or henna treatment, I LOVE this oil, It has a nutty, almost burnt smell--which can be softened by adding oil of peppermint or bergamot or orange blossoms to it, This is a keeper like no other. I often try new products but ALWAYS, ALWAYS keep my JBCO as a staple,
The best oil ever. I bought 4 of them to avoid shipping and im already on my third bottle. It grows hair fast!!!
BEST OIL I have used since my starting journey of being natural. I had alot of hair lost in the back of my hair and the top edges of my head. And when i got tight box braids, it jsut made my edges even worse. So my mom gave me this oil to start putting on my scalp, edges, and my whole head. And after almost a month or so, my hair started coming back. It was unbelievable. I recommend this to any 4a,b, or c hair types and curl patterns. It is very thick with a burnt smell, but a very effective product for your hair growth.
This is my second (maybe 3rd) time ordering this product and I absolutely love it. I have used it on my hair to oil scalp, incorporate it in different mixtures, sealing ends, and twist outs. This product has a distinct smell almost like burnt cigarettes or ashes. I assume it is because of the ash content being that it is extra dark. I also use this product on my 7 year old hair when braided to keep her scalp moisturized in addition to its growing properties. Highly recommend this product.
I tried this as a hot oil treatment. It has a very strong odor like volcano ash or a strong cigar, yuck. I brought the odor down a little by adding some essential oil. It is also very, very thick so if you have a heavy hand I don't recommend it. It made my hair a little oily on day one but it absorbs nicely and a little goes a long way. The product suggests that it helps with fast and restorative hair growth so I will keep trying it and hopefully it does what it says...
