After reading the pretty good reviews on this product, I was excited to buy it. I have never tried Suave products outside of the naturals conditioner for co-washing. This was terrible. My curls felt dirty and crunchy. I usually have no problem SOTC... but this stuff WOULD NOT FULLY SCRUNCH OUT! :( It was very dull. Also, the pump was very hard to push. My fingers were SORE! D: BUT my curls had really good definition and NO frizz. I just can't take how dirty it looked, though.

I usually use olive oil ecostyler gel, but I ran out. This was my alternative based on price. I bought a bottle for $3 at Deals. I used this on a five day old twist out combined with Miss Jessie's curly pudding. It gave my hair a soft hold with no flaking, residue and no stiffness. I didn't spray it directly onto my hair instead I sprayed it in my hand for more control on where I wanted to apply the product.

It smells great, but the price is kinda steep for Suave. I use this as more of a surface frizz tamer more than anything else; but even then, it's kinda hard to tame the surface of my hair if the product refuses to come out of the spritzer! Maybe the product is too thick for the nozzle?

This is a very good spray gel for refreshing curls on dry hair. It's very similar to my favorite gel, Ion Curl Spray Gel, but Ion seems to add a teensy bit of moisture to my hair, in addition to definition. Because of this, the Ion seems to control frizz longer. I suspect both the Suave and the Ion are "dupes" or "types" of Redken Fresh Curls, which costs 4x more than Suave Spray Gel. I have used Fresh Curls Spray Gel, and it's wonderful, but Suave, true to its claims, definitely works as well as Fresh Curls, and it even smells just about the same. The Suave Captivating Curls Spray Gel is a great product for getting curls back into definition, and giving them a bit of weight, without inhibiting their shape. If (when) my hair decides to frizz, I can spray this on dry hair and my hair springs back into defined curls, right away. I am very pleased with the way this gel "works with" my hair. Many gels have to be scrunched or twisted in order for them to dry into "shape". With this, I spray, blot my hair a little with a cloth, and I'm good to go. It doesn't have a lot of hold, which is fine, as long as the frizz stays away. If you are looking for a gel that can help get your hair under control, but will still let your hair shape naturally, this product is a steal.

I had been looking for this gel after hearing many good reviews on on it. I have fine 2C/3A curls, but I have a lot of hair and weight down is sometimes a problem for me also. This gel has been REALLY great so far. I usually am not able to get 2nd day hair, so I've yet to try this product for a refresher. I usually cleanse my hair daily - low poo or co-wash and this gel seems to really enhance my curls/ waves and provide fairly good hold. I have been using a s mall amt. of Biosilk Hard Rock Gelee after applying this gel for extra hold and the combo is just right. I also diffuse my hair until damp, so I'm not sure how the results would vary for those that strictly air dry. Highly recommend!!!

Love this for freshening up my curls. It's light, reduces frizz adds shine and boosts my curls. I like that it's a spray so I don't have to touch my hair a lot when applying.

My hair can be most closely typed as class 3 but it is NOT soft or fine at all. I have LOTS of thick, course hair that creates big loopy curls. Because it is so thick and course, many gels or other styling products weigh it down and actually inhibit the curl. This spray gel works super at defining my curls and not weighing them down. I used it for the first time today and I am SO impressed and happy that I found it. I've tried so many recommended gels only to be disappointed, but this light gel really did the trick. Will continue to use and am now on the lookout for a conditioner/moisturizer that will do the same....condition my locks without weighing them down!

I get great definition with no crunch. For the price I have been very impressed!
