My 3C/4A hair loveeeeee my q-redew! It has saved me from dry hair too many times especially during the winter. When my hair is braided i steam my hair then seal with JBCO every other day. Once the braids come out my hair omgg soft & defined! I also use this right after I put deep conditioner on so my hair follicles open & suck in everything then I put a plastic cap on with a hat, go to bed till next day I wash it out & my hair is soo beautiful. I don't know how I've been natural without it... Plus its also a great detangler! The only downside about it is sometimes the steam comes out slow but other than that it is worth the money. I recommend it to all my natural & relaxed friends <3
I purchased the q redew before Christmas. Used it once and then it never worked. Very disappointed! I have quite curly wavy short hair. While I waited for replacement which took forever because of winter weather I purchased the Devashon gloves. They work just as well as does the steam after a shower. The creator was very good about returns and paid for shipping back. I think if you have very curly hair this is great but for me I must wash and use product to get proper curl. Maybe it is not for short swavy hair! I must also say that my hair has been damaged in past!
I love this tool! It is just what I needed to perk up my waves and give my hair life during freezing cold, very dry days. No more going flat until my next shower, no more static and no more frizz! It is so nice to find a product that works so well and delivers what it is promised to do.
This is really such an innovative tool. I am impressed that a real curly need was identified and that this product came to answer the problem with a solution!
I didn't know what to expect for my 2C curls and waves, but I'm very impressed with the results! My hair is very long and by the second and third days the weight can pull down my curls, but this product returned so much volume and shape to my curls. I was worried that this would cause frizz around my roots but that was not the case, it gave me just the right amount of added body that I needed, and it felt like a spa treatment too. It was very convenient to use, just had to fill up the water and it was ready to go, it heated up quickly and worked just like it said it would - press the button and steam comes out. I didn't use any products along with it, but I think if I did that would also give me some definition and then my hair would look completely freshly styled.
If your hair is like mine, (3a/b,red, thick density, medium-coarse texture, medium-low porosity), during dry weather, you've probably tried to use the humidifier in your kid's bedroom, and the hand-held steam cleaner you use to clean cat puke off your carpet, to liven up your hair from dryness-frizz. You probably know these don't work very well. When the weather is so dry, my hair doesn't even feel like "my hair" anymore. It's rough, dry, prone to static, and it feels thinner. Indoor heating, and fireplaces make things worse. My hair seems virtually weightless, and instead of forming into curls, it poofs into odd shapes all over my head. No matter how much I moisturize, deep condition, use curl creams, etc. the hair will poof. Avoiding glycerin and using products with silicones can be helpful in small doses, but it doesn't take long for silicones to cause build-up, and even more dryness in my hair. Humidity, of course, adds moisture and weight to hair and plumps it up, so it shapes into curls. I followed a link of Naturallycurly to the Q-Redew website, and within seconds I knew I had to have a Q-Redew. The video demonstrate using this machine in a way that's a combo of a diffuser and a hand-held steamer. (Unlike a hand-head steamer, this does now blow your hair right out of its roots.) Frankly, I balked at the price initially, but it costs a less than my steam cleaner, and it costs a lot less than the DevaDryer I've had my eye on. The return policy is more than fair, so I thought I'd give it a try. This is about the size and weight of a blow dryer, and it acts like a mini sauna for hair. It heats up nearly instantly, and you hold it and pull a lever to release stem onto sections of hair. At first I tried to use this like a diffuser, holding it on sections of my hair, blasting, and letting go of the lever. Nothing much happened. Then I tried putting it closer to my scalp, under my hair, and releasing steam. Ouch! The secret, I figured out after watching the whole video demonstration my lack of attention span had caused me to ignore previously, I learned is to keep the steamer in motion. I hold it and move it over and under and all around my hair, and it absolutely works like a charm! I watch my curls spiral and swirl, and the curls (mostly) hang down rather than poof out, within minutes. This adds just enough steam to refresh my hair, but I use this when hair is completely dry and full of leave-in conditioner and styling products. The steamer reactivates my styling products, which, I'm sure, help shape curls and prevent frizz. I haven't tried this on "naked" hair, but I'm guessing I'd have a head full of humidity-type frizz.
This device is what I've been looking for - a way to get instant beach curls without having to stand in a steamy bathroom! Within 2 minutes my whole head of hair is transformed from limp and wavy to springy and curly. And the cool thing is it lasts all day, even in dry hot weather. I can't believe no one thought of this before! I am a fan.
