Awesome product. Moisturizes well. Doesn't add much shine, since my hair soaks it up somewhat instantly. But soft tangle free (for a few minutes)defined curls. I use this product on wazh day right out of the shower, and then finish with an oil mixture on the shafts and ends, and then a curl cream. It works well as a refresher/detangler on dry hair as well. I absolutely HATE the scent. It starts out pleasant, but the scent does not fade. It smells so much like chemical perfume, it makes me sick. Thankfully I use a Curl Junkie product on top of it that has a more natural pleasant scent. Because of this, and the fact that it contains silicones and other ingredients that I prefer to avoid, I will be shopping around afrer this bottle. It works well. If you don't mind the dimethicones etc, and you aren't overly sensirive to perfumes, this is your product.
I have to give it five because although I didn't like it, it was only because I wasn't using this as it was meant to be used. As it says, this is to be used simply as prep for styling. I generally prefer leave-ins that can stand on their own. It smells pretty good though, just not what I was looking for.
A little too rich for my 2b/2c curly waves. Did define my waves well, even gave them a little bit of spirals, which I like. However, my hair just didn't absorb it when combined with their mousse (which I love!) made my hair looking and feeling greasy. I still did get lift from my mousse once it dried, which surprised me, since it feels so heavy in my hair. This is probably better suited for 3 and 4 types, that require more oils. Does have excellent slip. Maybe it would work better without the mousse. Also, can't stand the heavy sweet artificial perfume, the smell alone makes not want to give it a 2nd chance. I'll stick with Kinky Curly Knot Today and Elucance moisture balancing conditioner in future.
Soo much definition!! I was afraid to go outside my comfort zone on this and try a new leave-in. I wasn't sure it would be good but actually its GREAT! My hair feels amazingly soft and smooth and my curls are definitely poppin! Even my temperamental crown area is well defined and springy! Love this stuff and the smell is wonderful. I like the mango and Shea butter combo, I've used Elasta QP leave in and they are similar. But I will definitely stick to this leave-in!
Hey so yesterday I just bought the unleashed curls leave in conditioner. after cleansing , I applied about 2 quarter size amount in my Palm and ran it through my whole hair ..while waiting for it to dry I figured I may have put to much in my hair ... But after seeing the end results my hair needed it. My hair smelt so good and felt super soft and moisturized and I noticed a bit more tighter defined curls n a bit of length. Thanks so much my next test is the * unleashed curls defining creme* I'll keep you updated Type: 3 Pattern: 3B (FINE HAIR) Length: Long
Hated the smell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure what everyone is talking about mine smelled like dirty socks. I tried to mask the smell under other products. Somehow I could still smell this nasty product. It went on easily with a slight detangling effect. It dried hard-not like gel- it didn't crunch out. This product is a trash can filler for me. I'm Very unhappy with this purchase. I could not tell what in the product didn't work for me, but i definitely a do not recommend it! If you are considering this product, smell it at a store first.
I definitely see why this is called "Curls Unleashed." It makes my 3c hair feel soft and silky and keeps it moisturized all day. I use it mostly on damp hair, but on dry hair it works well as a leave-in also. I normally put some in my hair also when i put my hair in big twists for the night. I highly recommend this product :)
The best thing about this conditioner to me is the smell. It smells so darn good. It never flaked and I used it with several different products. It's a lightweight conditioner kind of like lotion and beige in color. I really like this and I will buy it again. .
I like this Leave-in. I don't use much on my 3b curls and I find it works better when hair is wet. It gives my hair shine and softness. I would recommend it.
Glycerin.... It kind of made my hair oily and stringy... I personally don't like the smell. Maybe i'll give it a try later again.
Love this conditioner! I was worried that it would be too thin to really penetrate my thick kinky coily hair but I was wrong. It works really well as a detangler and provides great definition when cocktailed with the Curl Boosting Jelly for wash-and-go's.
This product works amazing and that says a lot for someone with really thick hair. It's light-weight, gets rid of most of my frizz, and works great for a wash and go. I also love it for when I do twist outs, really this is all you need.!
This is basically the only leave-in I use. It makes my hair soft and manageable. Seals in moisture for a few days so I don't to reapply every day. Great smell! Not to heavy or "corny"- just right. Love the consistency- it's loose enough to spread easily but thick enough to seal in moisture. My hair is fine, but there is a lot of it, and this doesn't weigh it down or anything. Makes my little curls pop too!
I have 3b/c hair and this simply is not a product for my hair. It made my hair dry, and caused it to tangle quicker. Also, the scent is strong to the point of being slightly nauseating. It's one redeeming quality: it makes my 4a son's curls defined and moisturized. However, for 11 bucks, I'd rather we both use another product.
This leave-in delivers on its promises. It leaves my hair smoothe and detangled with profound curl definition. I have yet to find a detangler that works as well as this product. It is definitely HG for me.
My new go- to leave in conditioner! I use Devachans No-poo and then this. It leaves my hair more defined and less frizzy. After applying this I use a small amount of Devachans arc-angel on the canopy of my hair. The next morning my hair is less frizzy and only needs a small touch-up. I am eager to try some of Curls Unleashed other products. BTW my hair is between 3A and 3B.
For my 4C hair, this product is "ok". First, I co-washed, deep conditioned, rinsed with cold water and detangled my hair. When it was still damp, I applied the ORS Curls Unleashed No Boundaries Leave-in Conditioner. At first it just felt a little thin and runny in my hair, so I felt I had to apply a little bit more for it to work in my intensely thick, course and frizzy hair. I should not have done that. The smell...! It smells really strong. A little too strong for my taste, since it makes me cough. :-(. And, no. I do not have a cold. It has this strong gum like, fruity smell, which I prefer not this strong. On the other hand the product, made my hair a little easier to comb through with my wide tooth comb. It' still soft and pliable and I can still, a few hours after applying, run a hand through my afro, without it getting caught in knots. So it's a good detangler too. Overall an 'Ok' product. I'd have given it a 4 rating, had dit not smelled this strongly.
Love it is an understatement! I used this for the first time along with the conditioning creme and I am in heaven! My curls are gorgeous and I get compliments everywhere I go! I have put my Eco Styler gel on the backburner in order to maintain more oil based moisture rather than water based! I loooooove this stuff! I wish I used it sooner! Hidden treasure!~
instant slip!! i didn't like the stylers, so I thought I wouldn't like this leave in conditioner -- WRONG! this is really good!! detangles, smooth, moisturizes, and all that good stuff. smells really strong though. a strong perfume/fruit smell and it's really heavy in my opinion, but everyone's nose is different... only con is this should really have a pump. it is very runny and i nearly killed myself when the bottle slipped out of my hands and became a projectile >___< still gets 5 out of 5 though!
I absolutely LOVE this product. This is the first product that I started to use in my transition and I give this the credit for training my hair. It's runny, but you don't need to apply a large amount. The smell is not offensive (the best smelling product I've come across). I have neck length 3c/4 type hair and with this product alone, and little maintenance, my hair will last for 2 days. Also my curls have very little shrinkage. I love my hair after using this and would highly recommend it.
So after reading all of the previous reviews, I can understand why people have been giving it four. Yes it's a little bit runny. (Sorry, that's my only con). However in my humble opinion, this $10 bottle of conditioner works equally, if not better than my salon-approved $27 bottle (and it also twice the size). It smells like childhood, and kept my hair bouncy and happy through a 12-hour day of kayaking, cycling, going out, and through the next day, looking great even after I slept on it. I live in a pretty humid part of the country, and even through two days, every curl was clearly defined and did not have the frizz that most conditioners have, or the crispy feeling that too-thick conditioners leave. I thought it was light and perfect, and for the price, I'm completely sold.
It didn't work for me. I tried it SEVERAL times. The product has no slip and u have to use a lot for it to be effective. I'm giving what I have left away.
Best product that I've tried on this product line. I loved it as a detangler, it was so easy to comb through. I also was very happy with how the hair felt the next morning, it was soft, hydrated and curly not frizzy.
A friend of mine gave me this conditioner, since she wasn't feeling it. I like this leave-in conditioner. I tried it on my hair and it did what i needed. Its a little runny, but it conditions and glides through the hair well. It works nice as a detangler. I also found that it was moisturizing for my daughter's 3c/4a hair. I think it good for daily conditioning after moisturizing your hair with a water bottle.
Smells amazing! seriously.. And I think I like it better than the well known Cantu Shea butter (I noticed that Cantu has Shea Butter listed as the 7th ingredient, and this product has shea butter listed 2nd, right after water -- if you didn't know, ingredients are listed in order of quantity from greatest to smallest). I love the light consistency, the divine smell, the effect it had on my hair. Most of my hair is 4a, and some 3c at the top of my head, and I can never get the definition I want on the top of my head, but this product definitely helped with that :) I would totally recommend it!
I loved the light formula and the delicate scent. It worked well in my hair after it was freshly washed and conditioned and also as a moisturizer for second day hair. Because of the light formula, I even used in my daughters' hair and it worked really well on them too!
I like this Leave-In Conditioner. It made my hair feel soft and it was easy to detangle when I put it in my hair.
I would say that this leave-in is a pretty good one. It adds moisture that lasts all day and work semi-well with Eco-Styler (no giant white balls). It actually relaxes the curl in my hair a bit. Unfortunately as someone said earlier it can tend to be too heavy in warmer weather. A little goes a long way with this product, don't be fooled by it's light appearance or you might end up with greasy feeling hair after a few days of use. Note: It's pretty cone heavy feeling also if you are used to CG or modified CG. Overall a pretty great product though.
Very good moisture and added a nice bounce to my curls. Good stuff. It was a bit heavy when it started turning warm though.
Working conjunction with the shampoo and curl cream this leave-in helps to retain moisture. It smells nice and is not too heavy. A good light conditioner that you can use daily as well.
Love the consistency of this leave. Not too heavy. Adds just the right amount of moisure. I've also used it to refresh my curls during the day and get rid of crunch.
I just purchased this product from Sally and I must say, I really do like it. I used it in conjunction with the curl defining jelly for a twist-out and I loved the results! My curls are pop-pop-poppin and my hair is super moisturizer and soft. My hair is not usually dry and under moisturized so I'm not sure how it work on really dry hair. I'm 3c-4a in texture.
