I wouldn't be heavy handed with this product for a refresher, due to the fact that the moisture would cause my hair to shrink it. I think it would work better as a refresher for my wash and go's especially given that I found that it left my hair moisturized.
I think it's easy to get lost in the rhetoric being used to push products. In order to give a fair, honest review I'll break out the product claims with what the product actually did for my hair: Claim: This curl spray revitalizes and revives naturallycurly, permed or afro hair to give amazing ringlets in no time at all. Revitalize and Revive hair? No. I found this product to be lackluster and just end up sitting on top of my hair. It felt weighed down and dull. You know when you try a product and instantly know it won't work for your hair... and you'll be left having to wash it out? That's exactly what the product did for me. Amazing ringlets? Well, I don't have "amazing ringlets" to begin with, so keeping it fair the product couldn't offer me that. In terms of defining my curls, I felt like the product weighed my hair down. The Twisted Sista line does have good products, but this isn't one I would recommend.
Since my hair is 4c the 30 sec curl spray wasn't beneficial. I recommend this product for a less curl pattern
I used this exactly how the directions suggested (with the curl activator) and the results were nothing special. This product acted like olive oil and water mixture but more expensive. It did smell great though (I got a lot of compliments) but not sure I would pay for a smell (lol). I ended up using this like a overnight twist cream (2 strand twist). If I didn't care about curl definition, just how moisturized my hair looked then I would use this. Otherwise for more definition, I'd use something else.
I have 4B hair an dI think I could have used water to get the same result as this 30 second curl spray-- moisturizer. However, I believe in conjunction with the curl activator cream, this product is effect. My hair felt soft and moisturized. As far as my coils being activated? My hair shrunk. It definitely shrunk lol which is exactly what water does to my mane. Since I have the product, I'll use it until its finished. And because of the low price suggestion online I might purchase the cream and the spray for moisturizing but not for what the product says it does (activate my curls).
I like the spray in that it was very fresh and light, which gave my hair a little moisture. My hair does hold a lot of frizz, so a spray like this has to have certain ingredients to give my hair more moisture. If this had been more moisturizing I would have graded it higher.
I only tried this product once, but it left my hair feeling sticky & straw like & dull. I didn't like it all.
Being that my 4B (kinky) hair doesn't exactly have a "natural curl" pattern, this product did not, or should I say could not produce the outcome that it claims. Although it has a nice fragrance, the streaming action of how it is distributed causes more product to be used than needed. Also, my hair was soft at first, but became dry as the day went on, along with shrinkage. I'm sure that my 2 and 3 sisters will have better results using this product. ;-)
I used this product after using the Twisted Sista Curl Activator for a daily activator. My hair was soft and well defined! My hair is type 3.
This comes out a little thick, and not particularly like a mist...I really like this product because the smell is really refreshing! I just really didn't enjoy having to do extra work with the product to make sure it distributed correctly. I would definitely recommend this one!
This did not work for me. I tried on damp, freshly cleansed hair, dry hair and second day hair. Each time the result was the same... Limp waves. As my hair is fine, perhaps the conditioners are just too heavy for me. Also, I found the scent very heavy and lingering.
I thought it did a good job of taming some of my second-day hair frizz. I definitely can't rely on this alone though, which is why I gave it a three. I had to use a lot to get any results, but it did give some refreshment to my curls. Plus, I really liked the smell, which is always a selling point for me!
This product helped keep a bounce in my type 4A/4B curls however my hair seemed a bit dry after using it for 3 days straight by itself. Mixed this product in with my daily moisturizer and it worked really nicely! It comes out a liquid consistency but once massaged into the hair also gave my hair a bit of a fuller look. Used it on dry hair majorly and will use the product again.
I used this on old hair after spritzing a little water. It worked well to re-define my curls and add some moisture. It can easily get greasy/ make the hair limp, so I recommend spraying into the hands and applying it that way since the sprayer is too concentrated. I would use this again, but would choose the curl activator over this.
This product was used to refresh my second and third day hair. It helped reform the curl and kept their shape.
Seeing as I had just got my hair braided, I used this on my 1year olds hair....he has the same texture as I do. It wasn't bad. It did give his curls a lift while his hair was wet, but once dry it seemed to cause significant shrinkage. And he did have a small amount of flaking as well when used with another product. As a boost to touch up his curls on a busy day, this is definitely a quick go to product, but I probably wouldn't use it everyday.
It wasnt too bad it did leave my hair soft the spray comes out in almost a stream would be better if came out of the bottle in a mist
This was ok. As far as refreshing a wash and go, it didn't help much, seemed to make it more frizzy. It worked better when re-twisting my twist out, but wasn't very moisturizing. My hair was really dry at the end of the day. I would use as a quick refresher (twist out) because it did dry and set pretty quickly. I would not, however, try to use this daily.
It dried my hair out really badly and did not define my curls. It also had an off smell to it.
This stuff is AWFUL. It smells bad, and made my hair dry, stiff, hard. It did not define mu curls at all. I have used other Twisted Sista products. They are just not for me.
The product just made my hair soft and smell good nothing eles didn't do what the bottle says it will do
I used this spray on second day hair and it worked okay. My hair just does better when I get it completely wet. My hair seemed frizzy that day. And I did not care for the way it sprayed in so directly in one spot, I'd prefer the spray came out covering more of my hair in one squirt.
I didn't really have great results with this product. It didn't "refresh" my curls, I use it on second day hair and definitely have not gotten the desired result.
This is the first curl boosting product I've used that actually worked! I have 4a hair, with a lazy 3c section in the back that just won't get right. But this product will at least get that section to do a nice S-wave instead of just hanging limp. Overall, it does add some noticeable pep to my curls. One of my staple products!
I bought this to use on my 15 mo daughter's hair (3B/C). I wanted something make her hair look pretty after a nap. I usually get her hair damp first or spray it on after a shower. It gets rid of the frizz until she lays down again or rides in her car seat. I wouldn't recommend using it on dry hair. The smell is strong but I like it. I always want to smell her hair. And you can't beat the price!
This product does what it says it will do - curls your hair in 30 seconds. Works great on my 2C wavy hair. But unfortunately, the fragrance of the product is terrible. I am allergic to most scented products, and when I use this it makes my head itch so badly that the curl properties aren't worth it. Please come up with an unscented version and you'll have a fan for life!
It kinda worked. My hair is wavy on one side and tightly curled on the other while the back is more of a curly loose afro. Any who; it kind of p worked because it was kinds like moisturizer/water and my hair craves moisture and curls up at the sight of water so... Yeah of course my hair curled up quick it also made my hair shiny but A little goes a long way
I felt this product did nothing for my hair. Since this spray is meant to be a refresher, it did nothing as the products (Twisted Sista) used for the initial styling did nothing.
This product was more like scented water but you can tell that it was more than just scented water. My results were disappointing. This product is a no go.
I used this as a finishing spray after using the curl activator. My curls were soft, silky and springy. They had a wonderful sheen and there was no crunch or greasiness to them. The fragrance is reminiscent of watermelon candy and is quite strong, so if you are sensitive to perfumes you may want to give it a sniff (if you can) before you purchase it. I didn't mind the scent at all and it actually fades after awhile. I can see myself using the entire bottle of product, not sure if I'd purchase it again though. It also added a nice sheen and bounce to my daughter's 4a/b hair.
It works! I used it on second day hair, and it refreshed them, tamed the frizz and made them more define.
I love this product and saw an add by one get one free then i did not see it again. my hair is curlier on one side more than the other, my curls are well define now and individualized i love it love it love it have been curly all my life looking for a product that work, no frizzes, reasonably price for me its a keeper, but all hair types are different what works for me may not be for the next person i have learned thru the years
I really liked what this did for my hair. It made it super volumous with nice curl formation. Only downside - not CG.
