This brings out big, slightly clumpy curls, and it has great hold. It doesn't dry crunchy, but it does feel stiff. It doesn't make my hair lose too much length, either, which I like. However, this isn't the product for me because I don't heat style. Occasionally I diffuse for a little bit, in order to cut down dry time, but the only other heat that ever touched my hair is sunlight. Therefore this is too much for my hair. It leaves my hair feeling dry, and looking like it's got a mattifying coating on it (no shine at all). It flakes a litte, and it feels like there's a lot of build-up, even after one day's use. This is probably a great insulator for moisture if you use hot tools and dryers, but I don't think it's great for air-drying. It tangles my hair, too, but maybe it would work better with heat.

It helps for the curls to hold their shape. One thing don't use a lot of it.
