This has become one of my go to shampoo's. It smells very natural, and gives your scalp a tingle. It really feels like it is cleaning my hair. It also lathered well.
I love this shampoo! It smells like icy hot or Vicks vapor rub with mint, but it made my scalp tingle which was very pleasant.
I totally loved this shampoo. My scalp felt amazing when I left it on. Loved the tingle, and I could easily run my fingers through to detangle a little bit while I left the shampoo on. It felt clean and fresh afterwards. Add in the conditioner, and I was totally hooked.
Worked well and I didn't have to use much. It leathers well and smells nice. It did seem to make more hair come out as I washed it. Didn't care for that to much though.
Really didn't enjoy this product, but it had one positive. First: Okay, no sulfates. COOL!! Always love it when products don't have parabens or sulfates. But then, the problem is...the product lathers just like it has sulfates, and whatever that alternative is, really dries my hair out. It also took away all of the curl from the strands, leaving me with really yucky curls in the end. The smell isn't too bad, and my scalp felt nice after, but my actual hair felt terrible. I probably wouldn't use this product again.
I had washed my hair in 4 sections. When I applied the shampoo to my scalp, I begin to feel a tingling feeling, but it wasn't too intense. The shampoo lathered up quickly. My hair wasn't smooth or overly moisturized. It just felt ok. I did not care for the smell which smelled like menthol cough syrup. After shampooing, my hair did feel clean. I wouldn't know if this shampoo stops breakage or not because I didn't use it for along period of time.
This shampoo was okay, but it wasn't a fav of mine. The lather was thick and dense which made it more difficult to distribute through my bra-strap length curls without using additional shampoo. It also was a bit more potent than I prefer in its cleansing prowess, but that could have been "operator error" since it was on my hair longer than my norm while I worked to get it through the length. The minty, tea tree sensation was indeed strong, and it was a turnoff for me, but that's more personal preference.
Lathers up very well. So you don't need a whole lot. Let my hair feeling clean. The minty smell is strong, but that's what I love about it. It is not as moisturizing as other shampoos I've tried, but I like it.
I was very hopeful about this product. I had been co washing only for weeks and clarifying once a month with ACV. I wanted a shampoo because I felt like my scalp needed it. This shampoo is sulfate free. It felt great on my scalp and at first my hair felt soft while in the shower but as soon as I stepped out my hair was frizzy and hard to manage just like it used to be with regular shampoo. I have 3c and 3b hair very fine and with high porosity. I do not recommend this for high porosity hair.
I am still on the edge about this one. I can say a little goes a long way and I love the cleansing feeling to my scalp but it doesnt help a whole lot with leaving my hair smooth.
I really like this shampoo. The smell is strong, but refreshing. My hair feels cleans but not stripped after using it. I also like that it has some protein in it. Great shampoo overall.
This might be my absolute favorite shampoo. It leaves my hair feeling so soft, I feel like I don't even need to use conditioner (but I still do. ;-) Also, it has an "aromatherapy" sensation. It's got eucalyptus in it, so it really opens up my sinuses and makes me feel like I'm getting a massage or something. Warning: the smell is REALLY strong. So if you don't like the smell of mint or eucalyptus...you won't like this shampoo.
I love this shampoo. It is quite lathering, but not super-drying. The smell is strong--like mint and tea tree oil--but I like it. Some might be put off by that, though. I rotate this with my cleansing conditioners, because I get overconditioned. This makes my waves spring back to life! The price is right too. I would give it 5 stars, but I don't think I can use it all of the time--might be just a tad too strong. But I highly recommend.
I must say I loved this shampoo. I think my hair is a 3c/4a mix. This shampoo cleans my hair, and it doesnt feel stripped at all afterwards. My first time trying this line and I'm looking forward to trying more..
THE best shampoo I've come across since going natural. Most certainly my favorite when it comes to detangling my hair and giving my scalp that oh so nice tingling feeling :)
Great shampoo, only con is the strong smell. It is very strong and if you are sensitive to smell maybe too strong, but I love these products.
I was not sure what to make about the sample I received of this shampoo, but curiosity got the best of me and I went ahead and gave it a try. The smell to me is earthy and like a strong mint scent. I like the smell. And the freshness on my scalp felt amazing. As soon as you massage it into your scalp, you feel a tingly sensation. It caught me by surprise but its soothing and relaxing and Ive never had a shampoo that made my scalp tingle. That was the best part lol. However, I think I left the shampoo too long, because after I was done with my shower, I could still feel the tingle ness followed by a slight pounding headache? Idk what thats about but I did like the product just not the headache afterwards. :/
I actually loved the tingle sensation this shampoo gave my scalp! You just have to try it to see what I mean and It does ot strip all that moisture from your hair! Watch Video review of the line: http://youtu.be/Iknq7Cs8gY4
Amazing shampoo. Cleans my hair - makes my scalp tingle and leaves my hair bouncy and frizz free. Doesn't clean too much to where my hair feels dry - just enough. I would highly recommend this product to those looking for a shampoo that is moisturizing but cleansing.
Before using this shampoo, I opted out of using shampoo all together because my 4a hair was already dry and every shampoo I tried only added to the dryness. I clarified whenever I needed to with V05 clarifying conditioner but it wasn't cleansing my hair properly. So I knew I had to find a shampoo that would do the work without drying my hair. Yesterday was the first time I actually navigated through this site and I saw the advertisement about this shampoo and did a little research, even go some information on one of the ladies that helped make the product. She was natural so it made me sort of comfortable with trusting what she said about the product. Long story short, I went to Walmart to purchase this shampoo and I must admit it was awesome. I was so surprised at the results. My hair was clean and still felt moisturized and soft. Of course it still needed conditioner but the shampoo did exactly what it advertised. And not to mention the price, extremely reasonable for the amount you get and the amount you have to use. With this product a little takes you a long way, for my second wash I used a nickel size portion and suds were everywhere. FYI: I am a reformed product junkie, I don't usually give products a chance if they don't work immediately, so to say the least this will now be my staple shampoo. I may consider using the conditioner to follow to see if I get even better results but for now I like what this product does. Enjoy :)))
I actually got this product in my July CurlKit and tried it out yesterday. It was a full size bottle so i was excited. Judging from the other reviews, i was expecting it to be hard to get out of the bottle but it flowed easily. Yes it has a gel type of texture but it is not thick at all. It's more slimy then anything i guess and maybe that would put some people off but it didn't bother me. It looked like hand soap in my opinion, it's a texture we've all seen and should be used to. It definitely lathers up but doesn't leave your hair feeling stripped. I loved it! My hair was soft, it felt clean but not squeaky clean, and that tingling sensation makes you feel like it's doing what it's suppose to and i think that's the real reason they tell you to leave it in for 2 minutes, so you can enjoy that sensation. The next time i use it, i won't wait the two minutes to see if there's any difference lol. The one con for me would be the smell. I mean it's refreshing, smells like menthol and tea. But i use a lot of product and i found myself getting kind of overwhelmed by the smell. I'll admit, it really isn't THAT strong, but i'm just not used to using products that smell like toothpaste on my hair. Maybe it just needs to grow on me. I'll be using this product a few more times just to see if my hair really likes it and that will determine if i start buying it, but so far so good. If you're like me and you're looking for a sulfate free conditioner that still lathers up without leaving your hair stripped, i would suggest you try this.
I love this product! I am a curly head that loves a tingle...and this shampoo delivers! I find that its a perfect complement to the deep conditioning treatment I use that also provides the tingly goodness... My hair feels silky and manageable after using this project! I will be using this on a regular basis! :)
I was kind of on the fence about this shampoo based on my first impressions, mainly the scent (which is not bad; you can definitely detect the menthol and tea tree oil that are listed in the ingredients) and the texture of the product itself (it comes out of the bottle like a thick gel but when you rub it together it feels very sticky and kind of off putting). It also took quite a lot of product to cover my hair. But... once I got it in there it lathered decently and left my scalp tingly. The package says to leave it in for 2 minutes (which is a bit odd for shampoo I thought), but I did and I'm so glad I did. When I rinsed the shampoo out my hair felt like silk. I was shocked and amazed and pleased! Definitely an unusual product and it might not be for everybody, but I will definitely be using it again.
I'm rating this with 3 curls because I'm neutral about it, not because it's bad. It has great ingredients, and if it's a formulation that works for your hair and scalp it's probably outstanding. I'm not a stylist or hair professional in any way, so, I could be completely wrong about how this product works. It seems to me that this shampoo would work best for people who shampoo a few times a week, and have oilier scalps. Despite its thickness, I think it may be best for people who feel that products "weigh down" their hair. (I thought this too, before I quit using silicones. Now it's the opposite). This shampoo is extremely thick, and it has a gelatinous, gummy, gluey texture. I needed a lot of water to distribute this through my hair. For my hair, I adore products with the scents of coconut, and pineapple, and yummy stuff. This is not one of those products. It smells invigorating, and clean; like pine and menthol. It makes the scalp tingle, a litte, but the tingling disappears after rinsing (unlike the tingle from its partner conditioner). This shampoo left my hair feeling woolly, dry, and so tangled it took nearly a cup of 2 different conditioners, plus a leave-in to get out the snarls. Obviously my hair is just too dry for this formulation. This certainly provides a throrough clean, and if you like a piney, cold air fresh type scent you'll enjoy its fragrance. Overall this is just too harsh for my hair.
