I know this is a curly-girl favorite, but I will give it three stars. I will say that a little goes a long way, so the amount you receive does last longer than it would appear. The consistency is nice, and it does spread through my strands well. The curl definition is there for day one, but lots of frizz by day 2. I try spritzing with a little water to loosen and refresh, but it's just blah. And finally, I just don't dig the crunchiness, which is what I don't like about it the most. I will mention, too, that I have a small patch of type 4a hair at the crown, and this cream gel does very little for this section by day two. It could just be my hair, but I'm not impressed with this product. Because of the price, I was determined to finish it out even though I wasn't really feelin' it, but I ended up tossing what was left.
Absolute best, def worth the $$! I make sure my 3c/4a hair is wet - not dripping, but def more than damp; add a thick leave-in (like Ouidad's Whipped Curls!), heavy oil (e.g., castor or hemp), then the Hydrafusion Curl Cream. Selling all my other wash 'n go prods cuz nothing else leaves my curls so soft, bouncy & defined as this!
I just started using this product and love it! I also use it with curls in a bottle and curl keeper. The three work great together!!!! I can go two days without having to wash it! It's a bit pricy but you don't need much.
all i can say is frizz. frizz frizz frizz frizz. it left my hair feeling weird, and it is the protein in it. this was expensive and i was hoping for much more. it didnt even moisturize well, but it gave some defenition. Left my hair limp, not for people whos hair doesnt like hydrolzyed protein. My hair does like amino acids in moderate amounts.
I really wanted to like this product, but it left my hair with dull, dry, ugly curls/coils. In order for this styler to work, I had to use it much the same way the 3C poster below did. I doused my hair with leave in, an oily pomade, then applied a dime-sized or less amount of the ouidad on top in sections like I do all my styling products. I'm an afro cottony 4a and I don't believe this product was tested or created for MY hair texture. Maybe for the silkier textured kinky curlies, but not for me. I know I'll probably toss this soon, because I can't have oily hair and face just to get a styling product to do it's JOB. I honestly don't know what the 'job' of this product is. If dull, dry, ugly, frizzy hair for afro-cottony textures is the "goal', then it succeeded.
Elongates like no other for me - Ouidad is my go-to brand when I want to use high-end luxury curl products that work.
I loved this product for my hair (3C)! You must use a leave in and maybe not this one because its drying but I worked with it. I had to use a creaming moisturizing curl cream of your choice that works with your hair and a heavy oil too. These must be applied before using this product. The product glide thru my hair full of moisture and the curls was beautiful. I did not need to apply any product for my 2nd and 3rd day. The 4th day, I still had lost of FULL curls but a bit dry and had to wash and deep condition my hair to add moisture back in. I will work with this product with other products to combat the dryness issues. I will re-order.
I tried to love this product. I got two samples from this website, and boy, did I love the smell of this product, but other than that, my hair went to war with me each time I put this product in. Although the texture is creamy ( a big red flag for us girls that have thin, fine, curly hair rather than course hair), the product had issues with trying to keep my curly/wavy hair defined. It defined it when I put it in,but after it dried, it looked like someone went at my head with a hair straightener. It's really sad, because I adore them smell of this product, and it is the only product where the smell actually stays with you after your hair dries. This product just simply didn't do it for me. You must ask yourself this: olfactory sense over style, or style over superb smell? I'd rather have a product that styled rather than a product that did nothing but smelled good. Think twice before you dish out money for this one.
I got this as a sample. I have tried it alone and with leave-in conditioner/ grapeseed oil. Not sure if I was putting the right amount but it made my hair look dry and salt-water like feeling. I usually wash my hair at night and when I woke my hair felt frizzy and untouchable when it is dry. it just did not agree with my hair.

My hair had definition--when it was wet. I've tried this product 4 times, with and without a leave-in, and with and without conditioning my hair. Each time after my hair was dry, it began to lose definition and frizz. The product does have a nice scent and is creamy, though.
I received a sample from my curl mart order a few months ago. Then recently, I got another sample. So I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, my hair loved it. When I say, love, my hair was in a bliss!! I used the cream in addition to the Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia leave-in and sealed with Jamaican Castor Oil. It really gives definition to my thick coarse hair and my ends were not rough at all.
Im 4a/4b and my hair is very thick. This cream doesn't make me choose between well defined curls and moisture. It works great and eliminates frizz. A little goes a looong way..which is great cause it's pretty expensive.
I like that it does give me good curl definition and some frizz control, and perhaps there is something wrong with my application technique, but this product was only so so for me. It left my hair a bit crunchy (I don't care for crunchy hair) and my curls stuck together a bit. BUT, my second day hair was phenomenal!
I got a sample with a Curl Mart order; I stored it in a small plastic bottle so I could stretch out its value. I've used it 3 times so far, each time my curls were very well defined with almost no frizz (I always get some no matter what, doesn't bother me anymore). The next day, my curls were still great, with no more frizz than the first day (unlike when I used Devacurl's Set it Free, major frizz on the second day). I would definitely buy it.
I love this cream! I got in in a sample from Curlmart, and wasn't expecting much at the time. I used it under the Batia and Aleeza gel after a deep treatment, and I got the shiniest and springy-ist curls in a while! My hair felt soft, and my curls were tight and bouncy . I've used it 2 more times since then and I always get good results. I'm thinking about buying it now, even though the bottle is tiny and the price is high! Wish it didn't have sillicones though-but otherwise it's a really good curl Creme
This curl cream may be marketed for tighter curl types, but it gave my loose curls tighter curls. My curls were super-tight with lots of shrinkage first thing but loosened to more natural curls soon after. It also gave me some really impressive shine--especially for a cream. I especially liked the sanitary container, a preferable vessel to an open jar.
Life saver. Curls are soooo soft after using it. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. Folks it gets better. Much better. When I use this along with Use Me Curl Up and Shine Cream it is utter perfection. It is the product we all hunt for. I would recommend of anyone to buy this and then buy the Use Me shampoo and conditioner and leave in cream and use this after with it and you will be blown away. All little Ouidad shine serum to top it off and you are good to go(:
I used Ouidad products before I discovered "CG", and, like every other line, I found the products to be hits or misses. It's been a few years since I'd tried anything new from Ouidad, but my coarse hair has had me on a hunt for curl creams my hair responds to in these low dew point seasons (3a/3b red hair). The drier my hair gets, the more it tangles, and tangles lead to tearing and breakage. As it grows longer, my hair can easily turn into uneven, matted rings, and look like frayed rope. I find that hair gels aggravate the dryness and make my hair rough. During low dew points, my hair doesn't have its usual bounce, and static electricity causes it to frizz like crazy. Layers of products, or very heavy products can make my hair look dirty. Ouidad Curl Quencher, at this point, seems to be the problem solver I need. It's a light, smooth cream that detangles hair instantly - even on dry hair! It leaves my hair remarkably soft and bouncy, with lots of shine. This doesn't encourage "tight" curls, (which I probably can't get with low dew points anyways). This does a great job of keeping frizz away, holding curl, and making my hair feel silky. I need to co-wash every other day when I use this, but for second-day hair, I don't need to add more curl cream; I can refresh with spray or even water. I'm loving it!
This is a great curl cream, just a caution to the fine curlies: you don't need to use a lot! It was moisturizing and a great styler to keep looser curls bouncy. I know it says it's for tighter curls, but I preferred this one over the gel.
I didn't think this light cream would be able to handle my 3b/3c curls, but boy was I wrong! Not only did it control them, it defined them & made my hair shiny. I loved it & a little goes a long ways! I'm a fan!
The cream worked well with maximizing my curls. The pleasant light fragrance was an added bonus!
I definitely saw more definition in my curls than I usually do and even had a little bit of stretch in with my wash n go. However, I did make the mistake of using another brand's leave in conditioner under the curl cream which caused me to have a white residue in my hair. Other than that, I think the product worked well with my coils.
