If you have Type 2 Wavy hair, you must try this. I normally don't like any type of gel because they give me stringy crunchy waves, but this gel-cream gave great definition and hold that lasted well unto my 2nd day waves and curls.

Smell - Great Consistency - Creamy and Light Performance - This is not a product for 4a/3c hair however it did add shine and I do believe this would work for a looser curl pattern.

I have an irritatingly picky "canopy", which is shorter than the rest of my hair and forms the "bangs" and the "crown" of my head. Layers help keep Triangle Head to a minimum as I grow my hair out from hacking it off in frustration a long time ago. My hair can range from 3a to 3c curls, and most of it is curly even when it's wet. However, over the years, I've found that the "canopy" is very sensitive to weather and dew points. Somehow it manages to get frizzy and lose shape in very humid, high dew point temperatures, AND very dry, low dew point temperatures. When my Frizz Forecast predicts "limp curls", and "mellow curls", as it has these days, I know my "canopy" is going to be super dry, full of static, and fly-away. Sometimes I give up on styling it and gather the canopy layer into a banana clip. just to get it out of the way. But I want to wear my curls down, so I keep trying stuff to see if anything will work to keep uniformity in my hair. The drier it gets, the easier the canopy tangles, and instead of getting lots of curls, all around my head, the longest parts of my hair spiral downward, in a few long spirals, the mid layers swirl and spiral downward, but the shorter layers get fuzzy and poof to the sides and straight up (They want so badly to be a fro.) These days, I like the spirals, because my hair looks almost as long as it actually is, and if I'm careful not to touch them, they will generally keep their shape. (When I was a little kid, I used to hate the spirals (corkicellis), because other kids would mock my hair by pulling the spirals and saying, "Boing!" as they sprang back into their shapes. I digress.) The fuzzy poofs, on the other hand, get more and more airborne as the day goes on. Wetting them with water only makes them matted and frayed-looking. I'd been searching for awhile to find a product that serves as an anti-humectant, and seals in moisture, yet doesn't have glycerin or heavy silicones. Finally - Moisture Lock Gel-Cream is IT. This really is a gel-cream, and it appears to be about 50/50. I use this on wet hair, and I use it as a refresher with some water on my crazy canopy. It works well with Ouidad Climate Control Gel for a "sealer" and it also works beautifully over Ouidad Hydrafusion Curl Cream for when I need really heavy moisture. Occasionally my "canopy" gets a little floppy with the Curl Cream, but this gel is so light, it can activate even limp curls. There's no crunch to this! It feels soft, yet hair is springy, and this does not flake, get gooey, or make the ends sealed like shoelaces (CHS Tweek, I'm talkin' to you). The gel-cream is highly concentrated, and it's easy to rake into sections. I don't rake and shake, because it would take me all day to shake, and I'm not THAT into my hair. Instead I rake and crunch, and that's my wet & go. I'm really liking it. Moisture Lock Gel-Cream reactivates perfectly with Ouidad Botanical Boost (which doesn't contain silicones or glycerin either). This gel-cream is a terrific product; definitely a low dew point staple!

This has been the best product ever for my 3b-3c curls, I just wish it came in a bigger size. I use it on top of the leave in conditioner- a little really does go a long way and that is all. No other product necessary.

It worked well on my hair. I prefer the Curl Quencher over this one though!

Awesome curl definition and shine. Solid contender, even in heat/humidity, despite the fact that I normally wouldn't use a cream or part-cream product in summer Occasionally, I have a tendril that isn't clumped and whisps away and won't reclump--even with water. But I just wind that area around an existing curl and am all good.

I really like this product, especially for my daughter's 3a curls. It is very moisturizing, and provides light hold. Nice smell and consistency.

I love this new product! I am a loyal mousse user and this gel-cream (really more of a cream) took my curls to new places. Wow, my curls were really curly and the clumping was fantastic. So excited!
