I have 2c, coarse, low porosity, normal elasticity and low-med density hair. I purchased this since I could only purchase the 2 bottles left of my HG Alba Botanica Volumizing Conditioner on iHerb to lessen the shipping fee. I've read rave reviews about this, although I also read that the new formula is nowhere as good as the old one. I use only one conditioner to cowash, as RO and LI. Multiple products gives me headache. I usually use a mousse with -cones that requires at least cetrimonium chloride to wash out with cowash, but I've been busting out my DIY okra gel. Now, that gel is a real test. That's my first attempt on DIY hair styler with a lot of hold. I did get a lot hold, but it makes my hair so hard and crunchy as heck. Fortunately for me, mixing it with conditioner, ergo turning it into a hair styling cream, actually turns it into a great styling product for my wavy hair. This conditioner cleans my scalp nicely and leaves my (wet) hair feeling silky (lots of slip), also gives my hair the body it needs. But despite of baptismal rinsing and putting some back into my hair as LI, my dry hair (I air-dry) still feels a bit rough. Granted, I've been neglecting pre-wash oil treatment and hair mask for quite a while now, but it doesn't happen with my regular standby: Alba Botanica Volumizing Conditioner and The Body Shop Banana Conditioner. Smoothing a dab of oil resolves the issue somewhat, but it doesn't feel as soft as with the other 2 mentioned. It still does clump my waves nicely, though. So I guess I'll just be using it up and praying to the universe that iHerb and/or Vitacost will restock the Alba Botanica Volumizing Conditioner again. I originally would rate this product 3.5 at best. But since I see quite a bit potential to make it workable without too much effort, guess I can be generous to round it up. I may repurchase, but it's definitely not a staple.
I really wanted to adore this conditioner, but I have very dry hair and it was not quite moisturizing enough for me. However, my main challenge with this conditioner was that while it felt really thick and provided great slip for detangling in the shower, once I rinsed it became a very tangled mess. I tried using it as a leave-in, but it again led to some fuzziness and tangling (though much less than when washed out). Other than this, I would have loved it - it smelled strongly of coconut (but faded to a lovely amount once dried), and left my hair relatively soft and shiny (though duller when left as a leave-in). With insufficient moisturizing and the tangling effect, it's sadly not for me. That being said, though it didn't work for me, I think that for many people, this would be worth a try. It's definitely a quality product overall.
I've used this about 3 or 4 times now. Love it! Very rich, good for detangling and leaves my curls soft and moisturised. Also works great as a leave-in. It has a strong, sweet coconut scent - which I don't mind, as I love coconut!
I really enjoy this conditioner. It has nice slip for detangling, rinses out easily, and has helped keep my hair soft this winter. The coconut smell is subtle, and I like it even though coconut isn't my favorite. My hair is medium coarse, dense, normal porosity and elasticity.
This is a nice conditioner, not the love of my life but it does it's job. It makes my hair nice and soft but my ends tend to be on the dry side still. Smells awesome! Im constantly getting compliments on how nice I smell, its a buttery creamy coconut smell. It's really awesome!
I really like this conditioner.....moisturizing, good slip, nice fragrance and no protein or silicones.
Love this conditioner!! Very thick & moisturizing & a great detangler as well. I use it with the matching shampoo & they work so good together. Will def repurchase. :)
