The smell is awesome, like most Curls products, but on 3B/3C/4A combo hair, it sucks. When first applied, it was great with lots of added moisture and definition but as soon as it dried, it was sticky and flaky. :(
I use this product to revive my curls the next day. It smells really nice and does the job but the sprayer sucks. I have to spray it onto my hand & then work it into my hair.
This spray gives me a touch of extra moisture, though I have to use quite a bit to achieve any results. I was hoping for a fine spray or mist that would be easily distributed throughout my hair, but this comes out in a strong stream that hits my scalp instead of my hair. I replaced the nozzle with one that "mists," but to no avail. I am assuming there is an ingredient that is causing this, not the nozzle.
This product is something I bought thinking it would be really great because it said "2nd day hair." I wasn't disappointed in it, but I wasn't about to go buy another one after I finished the bottle. Also, the spray bottle it comes in really sucks. I only used it on 2nd day hair, or older. I would spray with water and then apply some of this. The amount that I used didn't seem to make a big difference. I also tried without water. I thought it would help with the humidity in the summer, but I didn't see much change. Maybe it works better for people with thinner hair.
Overall good leave-in, but I hated the way it sprayed. It was like a hard stream definitely not a mist. Once sprayed into my hand and applied to my 3b/3c curls it worked as a great base for stylers. As a refresher I found it was a bit sticky, so I would only use it as a base for other products.
smell: fruity Sprite? lol nice pleasant fragrance consistency: slightly viscous and slippery. I can definitely tell it's not "just water" probably due to the fact that glycerin is the second ingredient packaging: the only thing is that it shoots a hard stream of product, not a misty type of spray. You can't spray this directly in your hair or it would just fly past your hair and hit a small point of your scalp hahah. So spray it in your hand first or pour some in a small spray bottle that you know will actually spray vs. shoot I REALLY LIKED this for doing and refreshing wash and go-ed hair. Since it has glycerin in it, i wouldn't recommend it for stretched styles. It is a humectant so it draws water from humid air into your hair and your fro will just shrink up. So it's GREAT for getting juicy natural coils but if you manipulated your hair to be bigger or stretched out to have different definition (twist out/braid out/bantu knots) this is not going to preserve that style for days on end if you live in a humid climate. plus! you can reactivate it -- like just wet your hair with water and you can kinda feel the product start to be slippery again. that's pretty cool
I hate this junk. I have tried every way I know to make it work and only found one slight solution. 1 part lavish and 3 parts water in another bottle. Any more and my hair feels sticky until it dries. Even then it has a tack to it. Then it is dry feeling and stiff.
I had to go ahead and return this. The bottle was so cute and the smell was ok, but I HATED how it sprayed! It also left my hair sticky. I am liking the Shea Moisture Moisture Mist & Shine better.
This product has the same effect as a water glycerin mix. I also really hate the way it sprays out of the bottle, it doesn't come out as a mist, but rather a straight stream. This product also has a slighty sticky feel to it and unpleasant smell. As for the hair, it's a good product to spritz hair with on very hot days when the hair is extremely dry, but I can't imagine using it for any other purpose.
