This product comes from the heavens, I swear. I'd been having one of "those" days where the behavior of my hair seems to respond directly to whatever hormonal imbalance or stress level seemed to have been laced into my morning coffee. I was running around doing errands and I felt like I could read people's thoughts, "Har...har...there's middle-aged Little Orphan Annie having a hot flash." "Hee...hee, it's Carrot Top's long lost evil twin sister only he's got better hair." After awhile I slugged into Sally's. My eyes met the SA's, and not a word was spoken. She solemnly looked at me and beckoned me to follow her to a shelf. She handed me a jar of this magical elixir, and I bought it before I even looked at the price tag. (Not a bad price at all!) This custard has the MOST control I've found outside of Gorilla Snot glue . It gives amazing, truly amazing definition, and in spite of your hair's bad attitude or your hormones, it keeps that definition. This is a custard, along the lines of Kinky Curly Curling Custard, but Spring Back performs like a strong-hold gel. KCCC elongates curls, and after scrunching, they are soft and bouncy. Spring Back tightens curls, and after scrunching, they stay tight, and defined. It does NOT let my hair puff. This does harden, but it's a pliable hardening that's not sticky or crunchy. It reactivates easily with just water, and even on second day hair its ability to give definition is unmatched. My "canopy" at the very top of my head usually resists definition in favor of looking like it's been back-comb-teased. Spring Back reins it in, and creates lots of defined waves/curls that do not become a dry, scraggly mess 12 hours later! I think this would probably give too much shrinkage to curls that are 4b & up, but I think all 2s and 3s might really like this for control and great definition. This takes a few hours to dry, but a couple hours less than KCCC or CCCC. It's great for use at night, because my hair will be dry in the morning. If you're struggling with frizz and lack of definition in this dry winter air you have to try this!

I'm giving this 5 stars because it is the best curl enhancer that I have found so far. I have read and read about different products and tried many of them with no discernible difference in my hair. This product TRULY makes a difference that I can see. Really enhances my curl pattern and the smell is great too! My new favorite product and you can get a much better price at Sally's.
