I absolutely love this product, and I've tried many! #Chickitten, you should follow the rule "less is more" when using this product. I have shoulder length hair (when wet) & only use shampoo once a week. The rest of the week I use Tresemme' Flawless Curls Curl Hydration Conditioner, massaging it in for a couple of minutes then rinsing. After gently towel blotting, I use a small amount of the cream mousse, scrunch it in and dry using a diffuser. Leaves my hair very soft with no buildup. Sometimes it looks just as good the next morning. About a week ago I stopped at the local walmart to purchase another can, as I was out. They had none. Went to another walmart...same thing. My heart sank. Had Suave discontinued my favorite styling product??! I ended up buying a different Suave mousse. Talk about yucky feeling hair! It felt stiff, crunchy, nappy....idk how else to describe it. And i had to go back to shampooing daily because of the buildup. Luckily, I was able to find what i was looking for at Family Dollar and also at walmart.com. I plan on ordering several and picking them up in store whenever I can so hopefully I won't run out for a long time!
I have 2b/2c hair and I have been a long time user of mousses. I did not enjoy this Suave one at all. The consistency is very different compared to other mousses, instead of being rather light and foamy with a touch of thickness, this one is kind of gooey and overly thick and sticky (it kind of reminded me of runny cake icing). It weighed my curls down and the feeling of the product wouldn't really go away even with sulfate shampoo, after awhile my curls/waves began to look horrible & limp and felt gross and build up-y (even my boyfriend thought so lol). I would not repurchase this again.
I've used plenty of other mousses before and none other compare to this one. Perhaps I haven't tried any other really good ones but compared to the others, this one takes the cake. It feels nice to put into my hair because of how creamy it is. It truly defines my curls and lasts a long time. So much so, that I hardly have to add any more the next day. My favorite mousse.
My hair properties are coarse, low porosity, normal elasticity, low density. It dries a tad crunchy, but it's easy to shake off and SOTC without triggering any frizz which has always been a problem for me with SOTC. And it's fall now, which is very wet in this part of the world. My hair feels super soft and lightweight. It's shiny but doesn't look producty. I get great definitions, real springy bouncy full head of curls. The curls are uniformly defined, big fat clumps of curls. I also get good volume and fullness with this, like I naturally have a lot of hair. It's quite conditioning on its own so I can use my cheapie CO as RO/LI. The combo is my frugal staple. At first, I thought I have problems with -cones building up on my scalp, but I no longer have the problem as long as I clarify once every one or two weeks. The reason why I knocked off one star is because I'm not entirely convinced that it works that well in high humidity for me.
This is the product I go to when money is tight, it's cheap and it defines my curls. The only downside is it leaves my hair feeling crunchy.
I really like this mousse. It has a thick, creamy consistency with a pleasant mild scent. It is also very affordable and easy to find at any drugstore. I can achieve up to day 4 hair with this. My hair is curly yet fine & low-density. With this mousse, I am frizz-free and volumized! I like the fact that this doesn't weigh my hair down but still provides adequate moisture.
I like this mousse because I have good second day hair when I use it. My hair never feels crunchy, gives it nice shine and defines my curls. Nice fragrance too. Only complaint is that I wish there was less alcohol in it.
I was recommended this by someone and I've noticed that my curls are much more behaved when I apply it well and in a fairly good amount (bottle says to use 1-2 golf sized balls - which I do since my hair is 5 inches past my shoulders). I'll have well defined curls even after the second day (I use it in combo with Shea Moisture's curl enhancing smoothie).
Hmmm, I used to really like this product when I had a reverse perm (looser curls than my natural hair), but as I started transitioning, it took more and more mousse to control my hair. I would say in its reverse perm state, my hair was 2c/3a. My natural hair's more like 3c. In either state, I feel like the price, consistency, and smell are great; but it doesn't last me very long. Love Suave products, but I probably won't choose this product over some others :S
I wanted to love this after reading all the great reviews. It just didn't work for me. Though my curls were defined, It made my hair feel to producty and dry.
i loove this!! i tried it out this morning after taking a shower. let it air dry and now i have soft curls that are not frizzy. and i have 2b/2c hair!
I love this mousse. Great curl formation, shine, and hold. Not stiff after it dries completely. It is only slightly stiff while air drying. Doesn't feel nasty while putting it in. You have to follow the directions though, otherwise it will be crunchy. Putting it into soaking wet hair is key to making it work. My hair is so soft and touchable with it. I get compliments frequently. Keeping people out of my hair is the hard part.
