I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It is great for fly aways and edges. I use it to achieve that slick look when Im putting my hair in a fro-hawk.

Took me forever to realize how to use it, and until then I thought it was a bad product I was stuck with. Definitely the key for me was throughly rubbing it into my hands and applying after blotting but still wet. It defines without weighing down, and I definitely see less frizz.

I liked this product for quite a while when it first arrived on the scene. But after a while I realized it doesn't hold up well throughout the day. It's a good product, but there are better.

If I could give it 10 curls, I would. I love this stuff. I have 3b hair and have been using it for ages. It gives great definition. And I have long hair, so its NOT just for short haired curlies. It's on the expensive side, but Bed Head sometimes offers it for "free" with other products, or you can buy it on Ebay in bulk. I've gotten it as low as $7 a jar that way (it runs $14-$18 normal price depending on where you buy it).

i can't imagine my life without this product, been using it for almost a decade. smoothes out frizz. it does a great job at repelling unwanted moisture. you really need to work it in your hands before applying.

I've been using this product for like 10 years, and I love it. I don't know who says it isn't made for CGs because I've been a CG all my life and have never found anything that works better. And I don't have short hair - in fact, until recently my hair was almost to my waist and I still used it successfully. It does take some experimentation to find how it will work best for you. it is very sticky/tacky. That's what I love about it, because if I don't use something that will let me texturize/define my curls, they will just be a frizzy mass. I've tried all kind of pastes, pomades, wax, etc. and nothing worked as well. I put my styling product in my hair while wet, and let it air dry. When it's approximately 2/3 dry, I take about a quarter sized dollop of Manipulator and rub it between my palms, then scrunch through my curls, flipping my hair from the left side to the right and occasionally upside down if I can't get it distributed evenly otherwise. I add more if needed, then let my hair dry the rest of the way, scrunching occasionally. It defines my curls nicely, and is not sticky after my hair dries. On the rare occasions I straighten my hair, I use this on the ends to "flip" them, add texture, and smooth flyaways, though I can get away with just a dime sized dollop instead. I would not use anything else as a finishing step. LOVE IT!

I love this product. Yes it's gummy (it even smells like gum, to me!), but I've found it the perfect product for doing two strand twists on my fine 3c hair. It gives me enough hold and body and leaves my hair super soft--that kind of soft where you don't want to stop touching it! Works well for me in combination with John Frieda Collection Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock. Super shiny, soft, well-defined curls.

I know it's not made for CGs, but this has been one of my go-to products for 7 years. I've tried a million other things, but always come back to Bed Head Manipulator! I have 3A hair. I start with JoiWhip Mousse. Then it depends on how much time I have. I'll either follow the mousse immediately with a tiny amount of Manipulator (while hair is still wet). Then let air dry and fluff a little. If I need my hair dry right away, I'll apply the mousse, then diffuse, and follow with a tiny bit of manipulator rubbed in my hands with some water. I just scrunch it through my head & it totally keeps the frizzies away! I even carry some of this in my purse for touch-up anti-frizzies throughout the day. LOVE THIS STUFF!!! Don't use too much or it'll be gunky, but if you find the right amount it's heaven!

Yikes! This stuff is like paste. Not for curly hair. Works great if you have short straight hair that needs texture.

This is my HUSBAND's HG product- he has very thick hair that other products just don't seem to control as well as this -so let your boys know if they haive think hair they want to "manipulate". FYI they sell the Mac Daddy size which is 4x's bigger at double the price so you get a lot more for the money that way.

Love this product for my very short hair. Control with no crunch. Leaves hair very soft and doesn't build up.

It's a gummy product that is probably better for shorter, more textured hairdos. I used it for an updo and it did control flyaways. But it may be a little too heavy for longer ringlets.

I'm sure this is a fine product; I'm just not sure what to do with it. I felt like I was putting gum in my hair. I think it's for short, spiky dos.
