My hair was humidity-resistant with this product! It stayed well-defined and frizz-free during the 90% humid days. If you don't like the "crunch" use the Paul Mitchell Curls Full Circle Leave-In Treatment or a more moisturizing leave-in prior. I gave it 4 curls because of the price for 5.1 oz.
I liked this! It gave my curls great definition and body. The only thing I didn't like is that it left my hair crunchy. Other than that it was good! 4 out of 5 CURLS!!!!!
Hair 3a/b, coarse, medium-low porosity. I have the same experiences with this gel as the previous reviewer. This gel causes me to have severe knots and tangles that have to be cut from my hair. This gel is extremely drying, and it leaves my curl clumps stuck together at the ends like they're coated in the sticky stuff that holds the ends of shoelaces together. It does not come out of my hair with Paul Mitchell Curls Shampoo, and I had to clarify shampoo TWICE to remove this product. This is too glue-like for my hair, plus it seemed to cause frizz.
I work in a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon and though I absolutely love the company, I'm not a huge fan of the Curls line. I actually don't hate the shampoo, treatment, or curl definer... this product however, is a different story for curly folk. I have had a lot of problems with serious tangles and product residue with this cream gel. However, I think this would be a good product for those with straight or s'wavy hair during the summer to get that salty beach hair.
This didn't work well on my hair. It left it very rough and dry. It kinda just kept it together like a regular gel but didn't elongate my curls to make them closer to waves. My hair is between 3b and 3c.
I like this product for the waves in the top of my hair! It did not make them feel crunch and it defined them well, which is something I struggle with. It also loosened the tighter curls that I have.
the paul mitchell ultimate wave left my hands feeling alittle sticky. it gives good curl definition. it left my hair feeling fluffy. i did not like that my hair looks dry, but i liked how my hair feels soft. lastly, it did not help with frizz.
This was a 1-hit wonder. I tried this one afternoon after working out with good results. But every other time, the result didn't match my first impression. After wet-scrunching, the curls were skinnier than I prefer. After my hair dried, my curls stayed skinny and flatter than normal. As the day wore on, my curls unwound and became barely wavy and a little messy. This gel was on the blah side. While there was no fluffiness or poofball, I did find it gave my hair a flat messiness and loose waves instead of curls.
