I recently cut off 12 (count 'em) inches off my hair and went from butt-length 3a-b curls to an angled 3b bob. Consequently, my products needed a major overhaul: all my beloved HG products I had painstakingly collected suddenly made my hair flat and stringy! This was actually the first new product I tried. I nearly dropped a brick, if you know what I mean, when the salesgirl told me I had to wait until my hair was nearly dry and then rake it through my curls, but OMG IT WORKS. This is like serious hair magic. My curls looks soft, bouncy, shiny, and minimally frizzy for days. I know this would not have worked back when I was Rapunzel, so it may not be a good product for everyone, but I love it! I wish it came in a little pump like the prep. I love the smell, but if you don't like it, I find it does not linger long. I can't smell it after about 10 minutes.

For some reason this product leaves my hair frizzy - whether used on its own or on top of leave-in product. I can't think why. The only way it works for me is in combination with aloe vera gel which gets rid off the frizz. I'm disappointed as it was expensive.

I love this product. Of all the Aveda curl enhance products it is the only one that always works for my hair. It never drags down my curls and I use it every day - there is not a lot of build up and no matter the weather it helps define my curls. I hope they never stop selling this!

My go to leave-in Fructis Curls & Shine has been discontinued, just like my previous favorite Fructis Soft Curl Cream. It seems they keep discontinuing their curly hair products and replacing them with new ones that are less & less effective. Needless to say I am no longer even considering using Fructis products. That being said - I've been on a frantic search for a good replacement. I have spirally 3a/3b type virgin hair that is mid-back length - even though I haven't used a blow dryer or any other heat styling appliance for 20 years it still tends to be dry. I use moisturizing shampoos but no rinse out conditioners as they tend to weigh my hair down. Generally I put in a leave-in straight out of the shower and let my hair air-dry. Over the past 6 weeks or so I've amassed a staggering array of "curl enhancing" leave-ins in my search. I've always really liked Aveda products. I've always had good results with their moisturizing shampoos and the scents are just heavenly. I used to use their Humectant Pomade years back but it always left my hair kind of crunchy which is why I stopped using it. In my attempts to find a decent curly leave-in I went back to Aveda again. This product just didn't give me much curl enhancement though. It actually made my hair more poofy and frizzy than curly. Big disappointment. I don't think I'll be purchasing this again.

I love love LOVE Be Curly! It's not my only hair product, but anytime I wear my hair in a wash/go style this is my product. My curls are super defined and lovely. I let it air dry and add a little oil. Definitely a product I'll never stray from.

Before I tried Aveda's Be Curly line, I tried a new curl product every month. Some were okay, some gave me good results now and then, but none of them gave me consistent results really. I have been using this product for two years now, and it has given me consistent results the entire time. After I rinse my conditioner out, I comb my hair out with a wide tooth comb (while it's still dripping wet). I mix a cocktail: two parts Curl Enhancer, one part Flax Seed Aloe (they smell like blueberries when you put them together) and apply the cocktail to my hair while it's still very wet, starting from the ends and then working my way up to the roots. After that I twist my curls together to define them. I either diffuse or let it air dry. Once it's all the way dry I rake through the curls a little bit with my fingers and they look frizz-free and defined.

AVEDA rocks the soft bouncy curls! I love this too (use w/ humectant pomade). Defimatley makes for a soft curl, not tight or sticky. AVEDA botaniclas are by far the best smelling and moisturizing. Not i've tried them all being that my sisters works in a solan and is always giving me "new" products to tyr for curls. I always go back to my AVEDA.

This gives me soft, full, well "clumped" curls, and I love the scent - classic Aveda. This is excellent for curl formation, but for maximum definition and frizz control I find it helps to also work in a little foam or gel. I have fine hair, and this is a great product because it really helps plump up and activate the curls.

Too heavy for my fine, wavy hair. Worked best if I diluted a bit with water. Worked well for a few washings, but built up too quickly given the protein in the product, which led to a dried-out feeling.

I have 3a hair and use just a pea sized dollop of this mixed with the same amount of be curly Curl Control. I scrub my hands together as my stylist showed me and then spread throughout my wet hair. That little bit goes a long way. I really like the results. Soft, non-frizzy, pretty curls all day!

One of my Holy Grails. I get shiny, soft, plump and defined curls. It's one of those products that truly transforms the appearance of my hair. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the scent - too earthy and medicinal for my taste, but it lies close once it dries.

How this has rocked my shoulder-length 3b curls: smooth a quarter-size dollop through wet hair (closer to dripping than towel-dried). Twist into small sections. Squeeze twists with microfiber towel and then dry with a diffuser for a couple of minutes. Let air dry and then gently separate the twists. Would give this 5 curls if it had a bit more "hold" to it, but this product made my hair ridiculously soft and helped me create bouncy, larger curls.

This wasn't as anti-frizz or pro-curl as I thought it would be. It takes a handful to smooth down my hair, and leaves a film that feels tacky. However, it does eliminate most frizz and provides some assistance to my ringlets. Also, I can't stand the patchouli-ish scent. It's overpowering and unpleasantly follows me around all day.

This is my new favorite product. Great for controlling my 3a/b hair, but i wouldn't recommend with any more curl than that. The lotion spreads well and although the product is a little pricey, it will last a long time. The smell is nice and it leaves my curls very touchable, unlike my old favorite, tigi catwalk curls rock. Love this !

I can't believe everyone's giving such bad reviews! I tried so many things on my hair and everything just left my hair poofy and undefined. I used this stuff and it was like a miracle! It made my hair be very curly with defined curls, but not poofy at all. It probably doesn't work well on people with wavy hair but I would definetely recommend this to curly people with poofy hair that they want to tame.

I just started using this product about a week ago. At first I would leave it in on it's own, but after having days of "poofy" hair, I decided to layer some gel over it, which works great. I now wonder if it's just the cream/gel combo that works best for me anyways...if so, BeCurly was a waste of money.

I love Be Curly! I also love the smell, which is rare for me (I think it's the marshmallow, because I like the way the way the Hang Straight smells, too). The only problem that I have is that it DOES volumize. I don't need volume. But it defines even the tiniest strands of hair. I find it works well if mixed with the Confixxor.

Oh my goodness. This product is BAAADDD. I spent almost $40 on this product, along with the new Aveda Control Creme. Control? Not for my 3B curls. In fact, my hair is dull, frizzy and not tightly curled when I use these products. The lotion formula does not provide ANY hold. The second and newest product, the Control Creme, does not provide the hold or frizz control it promises. Save yourself some money and buy another product. Aveda needs to go back to the drawing board on this one; they clearly did not test on true curlyheads.

After weeks of use, this product began to pull out my hair color (black over naturally brown); so much so that my hair looked as though I never dyed it. This is disappointing because other than that I had success with curl definition and frizz control with Be Curly. I would recommend this to anyone with similar hair (3B) who does not color their tresses. Everyone else should steer clear.
