This product is okay. It's not one of my favorites, but I use it from time to time. It does give moisture and curl definition and the smell is amazing!!
I just brought this product. I use this with Softee Indian Hemp Scalp Treatment, and my hair looked pretty well moisturized.. But it soon started to dry and my hair looked dull and dry. It did make my hair soft though.. But just stick to relaxers Dark and Lovely.
So i tried this product and i know that youre supposed to try a product for at least a month but i couldnt. I have 3b type hair and i put this in it thinking it would make it nice and soft and make my curls pop like it said it would but omg did it ruin it, it mad my hair dry and brittle and my ends got terribly dry. the roots of my hair would be curly and the rest would be curly until it got to my ends, it made my end dry and frizzy. the only thing i have good to say about the products is that is smells really good! (read the ingredients on the bottle... bad bad bad!)
I give it a 4 because it truly does what it says its going to do- elongate your hair. If you want to stretch your hair out I HIGHLY recommend this product. It moisturizes decently well although I won't say it's my favorite moisturizing product. It's also a good softening product. I found this most effective as an everyday C if you follow the LOC method- it really combats shrinkage and shows off my true hair length. It also has a potent mango smell to it, which I love, but some people may be offended by the smell.
Drying, stiffening, anti-clump formation, pro-frizz. It does elongate, but thats about it. Not ready to throw it away becauseI just bought it and that would really irritate me so Ill wait a couple of months before trashing this.
Love it , it works instantly and leave curls for the whole day! I have 4b/4c hair long with a mixture of 3c. It works great and it moisturizes and curls great!
I have 3c hair. I've been using this for awhile now along with the shampoo and conditioner. My hair is tangled up way more and i keep getting really bad knots that cause me to pull chunks of hair out.
I have 4A hair and this actually worked really well for me. I picked it up on accident, thinking I was picking up one of my staples Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in Repair Cream. I decided to just go ahead and try it since I had it. I used it in conjunction with the Cantu. After washing, I applied the Cantu all over and then applied Dark & Lovely and twisted my hair. I took it out the next day and my twist-out was amazing! I've never had a better twist-out. It was firm, but coupled with the Cantu made it very soft. I don't how long a twist out would last because my workout regimin requires me to wash every few days. I wouldn't say it works very well for wash and go's and doesn't do much for shrinkage, but it does really well for defined twist-outs. Highly recommend for twist-out lovin' curlies. The only reason I gave it 4 curls is because the smell, while nice, is too strong for me. It smells too much like a body lotion.
Applied right after shampoo. Love the definition BUT dries too firm. Feels and smells good going in. Really bad hair day at the end. I have tight curly, fine hair texture. Did not work for me. Hair felt miserably brittle and just dried out and no shine whatsoever. Will stick with Wave Neuvo product for natrually curly hair as long as it is available. Please keep these products available SoftSheen. Don't want to relax and compromise my natural. Try these and see. Looking for variety of what works because if these Wave neuvo products discontinue due to lack of consumer interest, don't know what I would do with my doo. Dark and Lovely Au Naturale need more time in the laboratory.
I loved it! A little goes a long way though! My curls were soft, had body and were moisturized! I def saw some elongation but I wouldn't say it's anti-shrinkage though. Overall, I can't complain! :-)
This product was moisturizing to my twists. I didn't leave my hair crazy soft though. I tried using it as a leave in and the moisture didn't last that long.
This was ok, it smelled nice, but I didn't see what the purpose of this was. It reminded me of the the curl defining glaze but with a different texture. Not my favorite product from the line. No hold or definition on dry, previously styled hair, or at least not for me.
it works well with my texture of hair, no need for a leave in because there are oils in it that can make the hair a little oily but its fine for my hair. as far as anti shrinkage, it doesnt stretch the curls that well but it works well with curl stretching techniques.
I tried this as a wash and go product and it did not appear to be working for my hair. I then decided to apply the 10 in 1 Gelee over it and it was better. It made my hair feel moisturized on its own (especially since there was no leave in) but didn't see real curl definition until adding the other product. I will test a section later to see how it turns out on a wash and go and report back later. Even underneath the gelee the 2 products together still dried with a little crunch so it didn't stay moist under the gel. I will also check to see how this product works as just a plain moisturizing product for daily maintenace when I report back.
