I have 3b/c hair and the only redeeming qualities this mousse has is that it prevents flyaways when my hair is pulled back in a ponytail and it doesn't have that chemical smell some mousses have; it smells nice like all the Samy Fat Curls products. That's it. It made my curls hard and dry, caused major shrinkage, and didn't control frizz at all.
This product, while I don't completely dislike it I wasn't a super fan of it. This left my hair feeling really sticky and looked dry. I actually had to wash my hair after using this product for a day. I didn't like that sticky product feel in my hair and didn't like that it made my hair look dry. I've tried it with the curl defining cream as well hoping it would give some softness but didn't work the greatest. I won't say not to try it as everyone's hair is different but for me I was super excited with the results.
Not crazy about this mousse. It leaves my hair really crunchy and hard. I tried pairing it with a leave-in conditioner (which usually does the trick) but that didn't help. I haven't tried applying it on semi-damp hair, so that might help but as of now putting it on my soaking hair leaves it crunchy.
i have always used mousse in my hair when wet to keep my frizz down......and i'll have to say this is the best mousse i have ever used for my hair!!! thank you <3
The texture of this product is very liquidy and sticky for a mousse, which was a bit of a turn off. But once I had it in my hair and I let it air dry for a few hours, it looked great and had lots of volume. It looked even better the next morning after a night of sleeping on my hair. Once I got past the initial application, I thought it was a good mousse.
I only have found a few mousses that my curls that my curls have liked through the years. While this one encouraged my curls, it did not have enough hold to keep the curls defined and happy. The hold failed midday. I tried it again with more mousse but got the same hold failure at midday.
Maybe my hair just hates mousse. I have baby fine 3b and 3a hair. I had trouble getting out of the container to start off and then when I applied it I felt like it was very sticky. I thought it might go away and crunch out but I had flat curls and had many questions about my hair that day... None we're good lol. So needless to,say this was not one my my favorite products.
Great curl definition! It doesn't make my hair feel dry and I don't need to use a lot to get the spirals I want. It worked best if I applied the Curl Enhancing Creme directly after washing my hair. After drying my hair a little past damp in a microfiber turban, I added the Curl Creating Mousse and scrunched the ends a bit while adding some to the back of my hair where it tends to get frizzy. I really enjoyed this product!
I have never used mousse before, so I can't objectively say this product is better or worst than any others out there. After watching many reviews where others said they skipped out on using the product, I decided to test the product by using it in conjunction with my normal leave in conditioner, the Samy fat curls cream, followed by argan oil, and the Samy fat curls cream gel after the mousse for my wash and go.Once my hair was totally dried, I was so happy that I had a different experience than the women in the reviews I watched. There was a crunch for a moment but eventually softened after putting my hair into a pineapple to stretch my curls. My curls were soft, shiny, and defined. My wash and go lasted 5 days instead of my usual 5. I then put my hair into a high ponytail for an additional 2 days, and did not have to do much refreshing at all during that week. I also didn't have any problem with my hair being dry after washing my hair a full week later after a humid & very hot week of 90 degree weather, and daily intense work outs. I am definitely going to use the mousse and gel throughout the summer.
I found this to be pretty good. Only used it once. I went through my usual routine, just switching this out for my usual products. The curls were pretty nice at the beginning of the day, just more frizz than I'm used to having with my usual stuff. By the end of the day, things were drooping a bit and my hair looked a bit dingy. It wasn't the worst product I've ever used but not the best either.
So, I have to give this product some credit. My doesn't always like to curl evenly all over so a lot of times I end up with some ringlets, next to some waves, next to practically straight hair. The mousse gave me a really nice curl all over. The problem is it also gave me a nice crunch all over. I saw some other reviewers say that they used a little too much and had this problem but then went back over and scrunched with just dry hands and that helped, so maybe I need to try again. For now, there's just way too much crunch for my medium thickness loose curls. Maybe I'll try it again and edit my review.
This did nothing for my hair, no hold, too much frizz, and made my hair feel dry. Did not like it at all.
I used this under the gel and had ok results. There wasn't much frizz and it gave a decent amount of hold but by the next day my hair was very dry.
I used too much and made my hair crunchy....tried it with a little volumizing mousse to have big hair for a party and it worked GREAT! But havnt braved it by itself yet.
This mousse gave me great curl formation along with the Samy Fat Curls creme as the base layer for my hair. A little definitely goes along way, I used too much and my hair was feeling crunchy and it looked as though my usual spirals fraying as it dried but once I scrunched it out with a bit of Moroccan oil the end result was great.
My 2 daughters and myself all tried this out. We started with the Sammy Fat Curls curl creme under it. It was a hit for all of us. I'm a die hard gel user for my 3b fine and full head of hair and this worked really well for me. The trick is to put it in soaking wet hair and to use a fair amount of it as you would gel. It dried soft and I had great curl clumping without the usual stringiness mouse tends to give. I do wish it had more hold though. My girls (2c, thick and lots of shrinkage and 3a, super fine with tons of shrinkage) both had great hair both first and second day. For both of them there was the perfect amount of hold. Their hair shined and looked like there was no product at all in it. No frizz, and both of them got the bonus of it elongating their curls and waves.
This gave me soft bouncy FAT curls! It was creamy in the hand, but didn't get sticky. It did get crunchy as it dried, but a little bare handed scrunch on dried hair got rid of that. Great curl support, and lift.
This has nice hold and made my hair shiny and soft. It is good at defining waves and controlling frizz, and it has a pleasant scent. I used it with my leave in conditioner. I like this better than the gel because it holds and creates nice curls for me. I would recommend this product.
Decent mousse. Good scent, easy to apply, but made my hair a little stringy. I usually like more clump and find when my hair looks stringy the curls dont stay as well. Will try it again, but not my favorite out of this line. The gel is definitely better for me.
This has better hold than most mousses and made my hair shiny and soft. It is good at defining waves and controlling frizz, and it has a pleasant scent, as do all the products from this line.
This mousse comes out kinda watery, but it thickens up fast.A little goes a long way.Be careful not to use too much.Had a great all day hold without humidity making my hair sticky.Overall a great product for really curly hair.
This product was great! The only reason it's not at five stars for me is because i have another mousse that does a better job for me but this is my second favorite mousse. It's really is a great curl mousse.
This mousse gave much more curl definition than the Fat Curls creme, but I would say that it worked about average for me as far as mousse is concerned. It did initially leave a bit of residue, but this dissipated as my hair dried. Maybe I'm just clumsy, but I found the bottle a little awkward when trying to actually get the mousse out ; if you don't get it completely upside down the mousse came out very runny. Little to no hold, but this was to be expected for my hair type (3c/4a). The humidity in my area was around 70% today and I am happy to report I have absolutely no frizz, so on that account this product has lived up to its name. If it could have elongated my curls I would have given it a 5.
I have tried a lot of mousse and as a result my hair was flaky and stiff! Well I can say I have found a new mousse friend:) Fat Curls mousse is light and my curls aren't stiff! My hair actually move after applying this mousse, thanks Fat Curls!!!
It felt good applying the Curl Creating Mousse on my hair, but I felt as if I was using a lot of product:( My hair did feel smooth and soft. When I took my hair out the next day, my hair felt hard, stiff, and sticky. I did not like touching my hair because my hands felt sticky, but I liked the curl definition and how shiny my hair looked. I don't think I can use this mousse again.
The mousse works well, defines curls just as it should. It works well with the other products in the line, but the hold of the product is the issue for me. I've been told time and time again to use mousse, but this particular mousse was did not hold super well, but it define the curls a lot better than gel does. The price is great for the product, I would likely buy again eventually.
This mousse has hold but I didn't like how my hair looked. It didn't do a good job of controlling my frizz. I'm not sure I'd ever use this again.
