A look by Tigi for Jill Stuart.

The hair for Jill Stuart’s show was done by Bob Recine for Tigi. He said the inspiration was “Kate Moss leaving a nightclub at 3am.” Sexy, disheveled and undone, this is a rock and roll girl after a night of dancing. This unstructured look is slightly teased at the top and has loads of volume.

Speaking of Jill Stuart, NaturallyCurly’s co-founder, Michelle Breyer, heard Stuart say, “Curly actress AnnaLynne McCord was on hand, but her ringlets were styled in more of a smooth, retro Hollywood ‘do. I wanted to yell ‘rock those curls, Anna!’ Didn’t think it was appropriate to do it in the middle of a fashion show.”

Our woman-behind-the-scenes, Michelle Breyer, reports: “Curls weren’t just on the girls on the runway. At Perry Ellis, two of the ridiculously perfect male models sported amazing curls. Big curls. That was the trend throughout the shows, with men talking about letting their curls doing their thing. Forget the close-shorn cut. It’s now about letting curls and kinks do their thing.

The beauty in the photo above wears Ports 1961, and we definitely think her hair is an asset. Below is another beautiful curly sporting Ports 1961, a women’s ready-to-wear line full of classic, structured pieces, with a romantic and sometimes ethnic twist. NaturallyCurly’s own Michelle Breyer is backstage at Fashion Week and offers this insider info!

Loris Diran’s show at the Bowery Hotel exemplified the textured trend that is one of the hottest looks for the Mercedes Benz Fall 2010 Fashion Week in New York.

Christo of Christo Fifth Avenue created big, sexy texture for all the models—both men and women. The look wasn’t about defined waves and curls. It was a bigger, frizzier look—and those in the know say it is one of the biggest trends to hit the runway. Rather than very precise ‘dos, the look was messier and wilder.

This look extended off the runway where many in the audience rocked their waves and curls. The general consensus was that you should go with what you’ve got and celebrate it.
