About the Author

Gabrielle (Chocolatetresses)

My name is Gabrielle and I am a stay-at-home mom with three boys all under the age of 3. I know, right?, I am dedicated to my husband and children and I love being able to take care of them. I first started transitioning in June 2008 and I did that for about a year and during that time I wore my hair in "curly" styles, bantu knots, twist and curls, rollersetsÑyou name it and I mostly likely have done it. I Big Chopped June 25, 2009 and it wasn't the most wonderful experience only because I cut my own hair and it was super choppy. I also cut off about 4 inches of my "natural" hair mainly because I wanted to experience a TWA. A week later I managed to style it in a way that complimented my face and I was really excited about seeing my natural curls and how easy it was to maintain my 4a/4b TWA. Now I'm about 2 years relaxer-free and I've had a tremendous amount of growth and I'm loving my hair more and more each day. My motto is "If it ain't broke then why fix it?" Embrace your natural curls and don't ever be afraid to show the REAL YOU!
