Natural Chica/Mae

Mae is the creator and editor of NaturalChica.com . What originally started as a blog to document her own transition to natural hair for the first time, NaturalChica.com has now become a site that encourages women to embrace their natural hair & beauty. NaturalChica.com features healthy hair care tips, product reviews, transitioning stories of other Natural Chicas , company spotlights, as well as interviews with fabulous Natural Chicas who are artists, vloggers, bloggers and from other walks in life! Mae also maintains a YouTube channel (Nikkimae2003) that covers many hair-related topics amongst a number of other areas that pique her interest.

As a new natural herself (since July 2009), Mae is always eager to share important lessons she's learned regarding natural haircare, tutorials on hair styles, how to create hair products using natural ingredients and whatever else she finds to be useful! For her, being a Natural Chica is FUN and she couldn't imagine it any other way!

Mae holds her B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Maryland and is currently a 2nd year Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science and Engineering, where she conducts research in the area of biomaterials. Follow her on Twitter and friend her on Facebook for more natural hair fun!
