“I want to teach [my kids] about all religions [and culture], and I’m trying to find a way to do that. And when it comes to the subject of adoption, like when my daughter, who’s African, wants her hair to look straight like mummy’s . . . and I look for a Barbie that’s African, and the African Barbie has straight hair! And you know, why has Disney never made a film with an African-American princess?”

I used to hate it, growing up, that there were never any dolls that had my wild curly hair. It left this impression that there was something ugly about who I was naturally. Bravo to Angelina for wanting her daughter to love her natural hair.

i think that is totally true….. there definitely should be dolls with curly hair. there is, however, going to be a disney movie with a brown princess, called the princess and the frog

Angelina, Put some conditioner in that babys hair please. If there is a void in the marketplace of natural doll’s, Oprah and Angie should get together and make some fab natural dollies for these girls.
