I have 3a/3b curls but my hair is thin. I just have a lot of it, which is why people think it's thick. I used to use Pantene for curly hair-I used it for about 8 years until I heard all the bad things in it-plus, it wasn't doing much for my curls and was actually making them frizzy, something I've never esperienced before. The girl at Sally's told me about Ion Curl Solutions shampoo and conditioner and I've been using that for the past 2 years with no problem, along with Beyond The Zone curling creme and serum.
I also don't have dandruff, never have. I've only ever had oily hair, and as I said Pantene was awful for me. Nexxus didn't do much either. Try Ion, it's about $6 for shampoo and conditioner!

I've used the Pantene line, both the Curly Moisturize, and the Curly Smooth line.

While they worked OK, I've had even better results with Redken's Fresh Curls line.

I have type 3B hair, that is W&W, only occasionally flat-ironed (once my stylist @ Bubbles explained to me the new flat irons vs the sorry piece of *&^% old one I had). Rarely highlighted.

Fructis didn't do much for me although it's been over 5 yrs since I used anything other than their smoothing oil.
