I must be lucky because I have 2nd day, third day, and even fourth day curls. I only wash my hair twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays). I find this helps my curls stay hydrated and healthy.

Whenever I have 2nd-day curls I spray the really frizzy parts (mostly on the sides for me) with the Lavender Spray from the book 'Curly Girl'. It works wonders and it smells lovely!

I'd also like to say -use Curl Junkie's Aloe Fix Gel. That stuff is fricken' incredible. It smooths and wicks away frizz. It is a miracle worker.

Yes, Suzy... a good 2nd day hair is possible, even with thick 3C-4A curls. Though I still can't get it as perfect as the 1st day, this is what works for me.
1. I shower (& cowash)after work in the early evening. This gives my hair a few hours to dry.
2. Even though my hair is still damp, I use a satin scarf (avail @Walmart for $2-3), and tie it around my head before bed. (OK, not the most attractive look...)
3. In the morning, my hair is a little flat, but the curls come back to life with my own spray mix: a bottle of water w/about a tsp. of oil. (I like jojoba and/or olive.)
4. I try not to manipulate the curls too much, or they'll frizz.
Today happens to be the 2nd day, and my curls look pretty good!
