Wavy (Type 2)
You may feel the need to shampoo daily but now that the temperatures and dew points have dropped try to keep it to a minimum. Stay away from shampoos and cleansers that contain detergents. Go for second day hair by using dry shampoo
to stretch another day before cleansing.
Curly (Type 3)
every few days with conditioner avoiding shampoos. If you must shampoo, avoid products with sodium lauryl sulfate which strip your hair of its necessary natural oils leaving it dry and frizzy. This may take some getting use to, but it will pay off! Concentrate on cleansing the scalp with a firm but gentle scalp massage. This is what gets you clean, not the bubbles!
Coily (Type 4)
You may only need to cleanse weekly. Lucky! Consider a pre-poo, applying oil such as coconut or virgin olive oil for ten minutes prior to cleansing, if your hair is extra dry and brittle. With a firm, but gentle massage, co-wash concentrating on the scalp. Use plenty of water to rinse.
