I have been experimenting with so many different curly products throughout the months. While I fell in love with so many of them, choosing my favorites was difficult! I finally narrowed it down to my ultimate must-have products. When choosing my 2023 favorite curly hair products, moisture, scent, and ingredients played a big factor. 3A curlies, what are your Holy Grails and why?

Sulfate-Free Shampoos
SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo
This product is great– not only does it smell heavenly, but it also contains all-natural ingredients. It is a gentle, non-drying shampoo for curls and is my favorite.
Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Cleansing Shampoo
I love this shampoo because it is a gentle and light cleanser and smells great. The only con about this product is that it can leave your hair feeling slightly squeaky-clean.
Cleansing Conditioners
Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner
This cleanser is my ultimate go-to product. I love the way this product smells and how quickly and gently it detangles my hair. It has such a nice, smooth consistency and is simply a must-try!
Camille Rose Naturals Caramel Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner
This cleansing conditioner smooths every hair strand if you want to refresh and balance your scalp. This can be applied during your wash day and gently massaged into the scalp before rinsing.
Daily Conditioners
SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner
While this product is a bit thick in consistency, it smells great, contains all-natural ingredients, and does wonderful things for your hair! A great daily conditioner!
CURLS Coconut CURLada Conditioner
This conditioner is a must-try–it smells lovely, is a great detangler, and has a smooth silky consistency. A great daily conditioner!
Leave-in Conditioner
Curl Junkie Curl Queen Leave-In Conditioner
This is my ultimate favorite moisturizer/leave-in. I love how it smells. This product will leave your hair smelling like warm cacao seed butter. For best results, I recommend applying this after you’re done showering. Flip your hair over and apply it to sopping wet hair.
OUAI Leave-In Conditioner
Say goodbye to knots and flyaways with this leave-in conditioner. The lightweight blend of tamarind seed extract, vitamin E, and proteins can smooth split ends and reduce frizz.
Deep Conditioner
Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner
This deep conditioner truly does the job of giving my hair the moisture it needs. I love how my hair feels afterward–the only con to this product is that it smells a bit like minty medicine.
I like to apply this to sopping wet hair, putting on a cap, putting on a heated cap over that, and leaving it in for about 15-20 minutes!
Rizos Curls Deep Conditioner
We love a deeply nourishing deep conditioner, and Rizos Curls is bringing the heat with this award-winning product. This can be applied to curls during your wash day and washed out within 10 minutes to condition and soften your curls.
Oil
Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment
This has been a product that I have never been able to live without. I put a tiny bit into my hair after I have applied my styling gel. This oil smells heavenly and gives your curls the shine they need.
CURLSMITH Bonding Oil
We can all use a lightweight oil that works as the ultimate finisher for hair that needs a little extra boost of hydration. It can be used to reduce frizz, seal moisture in the hair, and to soften crunch curls that may have a bit too much product.
Styling Gel
Redken Curvaceous Ringlet Perfecting Lotion (For Elastic Curls)
Redken’s Curvaceous Ringlet is the gel I cannot live without out of the styling gels I have tried so far! It is a smooth lotion that smells great, defines curls, and brings them back to life!
I recommend applying this to sopping wet hair after you apply your moisturizer!
