"Glamour" accentuates model's kinks in makeover — a rare occurrence these days

Kudos to “Glamour” magazine for showing a makeover that actually accentuates kinks rather than straightens them. Stylist David Evangelista used a conditioning mask and hair color to boost the model’s curly look.

Hmmm… okay…. I think a twist-out would have looked nicer on her. She has such a pretty face. Yup. Definitely a twist out.

I like her color and that they left her natural, but they needed to cut of those thin ends and giver her a nicer shape.

Oh yeah. I agree with Suburbanbushbabe. Chop off those wispy ends and create a nicer shape. To me, this hairstyle says,” I really don’t know what to do with this kind of hair but,(takes deep breath)here goes nothing!” Not to mention the fact that the “after” pic doesn’t look much different from the “before” pic. I meant that from the point of view of the stylist.

it’s ok. she should go a bit shorter cuz at the ends they sorta go flat…

He achieved what he set out to do. However, the problem is that there are few women whose hair is shown as natural 3c-4b hair in major fashion magazines.

This is the BEFORE picture, right?

I agree with mariag002- I couldn’t tell which was the before or after picture?

ok… this is no where near cute. they should be ashamed of this picture for real

Everyone should really take a minute to read the article. The article was about mini make overs that can be done at a lower cost. Nothing very drastic.
This is what the article said:
“Add some shine
Hidekel Elivo, 28, has model-good looks, but overdyeing had dulled her hair. Stylist David Evangelista’s answer: a conditioning mask and an overall golden brown hue (not just on ends).”
It was not supposed to be this huge deal. With one of the ladies, all they did was change the color of the eye shadow. With another all they did was add eyeliner.
Having read the article, I can appreciate the small change that was made however small it was.

That’s how my hair looks when I wake up in the morning … so yeah, that’s not a look I try to take outside of my house. Not even to the mailbox. To each her own though. ::shrugs::

What article?? And maybe if her hair looked nicer we could appreciate the “small change”. No, it doesn’t look any better. Ask yourself if you would want your hair to look like this.

Ummm, although I’m glad that natural kinks are becoming mainstream, this style does not work for the model. I’d be angry if someone made me pose for this picture looking like a scarecrow! LOL

Is this model transitioning to natural? Looks like she has relaxed ends that need a trim.
I still love the fact that they didn’t relax her locks and add extenions

….. they didnt do anything to her… at all…
