I've been using the Curl/Wave Cream for medium-thick hair (even though my hair is thin/fine; I don't like sprays so didn't go for the fine-hair product). I love it! I do find that it builds up slightly with daily use. And it builds up more slowly when used in rotation with other products. For me, DevaCare Low Poo or ACV rinse works well to remove the buildup. I tried samples of the No Frizz leave-in for about a week. I loved that too. Worked nicely with the Curl/Wave Cream. I also have the shampoo and conditioner, but have not tried those yet; looking forward to it though!

2nd time i am posting this comment as first one did not show up. thanks, tonya, for breaking this down. my hair loved amodimethicone in the old deva one condition, and misses it, nothing seems to do exactly the job. i never had a build up problem. my question is the one that you raised, will i need a sulfate shampoo to remove the polymer? if i just co wash or low poo, will that be sufficient long term?

So now we need scientists from MIT to help us control our hair? Funny. There was an article about this in the Boston Globe and one of commentors at the bottom said "embrace your frizz! its the age of the afro and the jewfro and the mexfro! straight hair is vanilla boring!" I agree!

Thanks for your article, I used the living proof and was concerned I would not be able to wash it out and it would damage my hair. If it builds up on your hair then it seems to me, when you use conditioner it isn't penetrating. It worked well but I was very concerned it was ruining the health of my hair :(
