The show is all about self-definition, but apparently that is only for European standards of beauty. Everyone else must get in line to assimilate. I saw a picture of Oprah's natural hair, pre flat-iron and I thought it looked gorgeous and full. But apparently Oprah doesn't think her kinky hair is appropriate for television. According to this article, she also doesn't seem to think that anyone else's is either. This is one of the many reasons why I can no longer support the Oprah show.
