#11 – if you apply product to drippng wet hair, when / how do you dry it? If you blot it after product’s been applied, won’t it mess it up and remove the product? It takes my hair about 60 to 90 minutes to air dry – I can’t imagine how long it would take if it was dripping wet!

Has anyone tried that method?

#12 – This makes zero sense. Hair is not subject to bodily fluctuations once it leaves the follicle. Hair is not living tissue. Chemical treatments DO affect the hair but caffiene and processed foods do not have an immediate effect. Since hair grows about 1/2 inch per month, it would take months or years for any effect to be apparent… if at all. #12 makes it sound like caffience today = dry hair tomorrow. No way.

#1 did the trick for me. I got a good curly cut and now I don’t get any frizz at all unless I do something silly like completely mess with my hair while it’s still real wet.

also the redken makes a color extend sun after sun mask, a color extend sun after sun shampoo, and color extend sun solar screen with spf 12 for before you go out into the drying sun.

actually it does make alot of sense, Redken makes a line of products called color extend sun which is for before, during, and after you have been in the sun they make a protective spray which has spf 12 in it. And sun dries out your hair and makes color if you have it fade quicker and your scalp can become sunburnt very easily and a unhappy scalp makes for Unhappy hair.

#13 doesn’t make any sense at all. There’s no such thing as a “shampoo with a built-in SPF” – SPF is a system of measurement, not an ingredient. It measures the effectiveness of a sunscreen in terms of how many times longer you can stay in the sun before getting a sunburn. Hair doesn’t sunburn, so the SPF measurement scale doesn’t apply to hair products.

I presume what you meant was a built-in sunscreen, but even that doesn’t make much sense to look for in a shampoo, because shampoo is rinsed out of your hair! In a leave-in conditioner it might make sense – but there’s really no reliable way of measuring the effectiveness of sunscreen ingredients on hair.

Really, the only guaranteed effective way of preventing sun damage to your hair is to wear a hat or scarf over it during prolonged sun exposure.
