3. Mýa
Hailing from Washington, D.C, this hip-hop singer and dancer is involved in more ways than one, and is a cute curly by nature. Since 1998, she has been all over the entertainment industry, releasing albums, creating her own label, and appearing in movies as both a singer and actress. But Mýa doesn’t only sing for movies and shows, she also has a variety of causes that she supports. Using her talent to benefit others, she recently performed for the Africare Health Jam in Washington, D.C, and joined Wyclef Jean in the remake of “We are the World,” an effort to raise money for the victims in Haiti. In 2005, she started her own non-profit organization called TMATF, or, The Mýa Arts and Tech Foundation. She acts as both a director and teacher, working to provide education in technology and the arts to disadvantaged children. Is there anything that Mýa cannot do?

TYRA AND BEYONCE?! They don’t even wear their real hair, so to reference them in a natural hair article is pretty ridiculous. Wow, try some actual curly celebs next time. Who edited this!?

tyra, beyonce, and oprah: none of them wear their hair natural. When its curly, its done w/ a flat iron or a curling iron. I know beyonce and tyra DO have naturally curly hair, but don’t wear it that way

Can someone explain to me how wearing a wig makes you a “Natural Curly”? Well known wiggies (and I mean FULL Wiggies)…not clip in pieces here and there…would be Beyonce and Tyra. You might as well add Wendy Williams, Vivica Fox and that gold digging chick from Atlanta Housewives (Kim Zolciak)to this list because I see Wig Central posted here.

As a biracial person with very very NATURALLY curly hair, I find this list incredibly insulting. Not only are many, if not most people on this list shown with large, loose, highly styled hair, most of them do not have hair that could really be classified as curly enough to be on this website. Growing up, I struggled to accept my naturally curly hair because I was teased so much. Many people of color, especially African-Americans continue to think that their hair is not acceptable the way it is, because hair like theirs is never represented in the media. The media includes websites like this one. Using people like Oprah as an example is also a mistake; her hair in that image has been PROCESSED and re-styled with a curling iron. This is not natural! Get a clue naturallycurly.com: Cree Summer, Jasika Nicole, Corinne Bailey Rae, Solange Knowles…etc etc.
