You may have noticed monoi oil increasingly appearing on the ingredients lists of your favorite hair products recently. So what exactly is Monoi oil and why is it gaining such popularity in hair products?

Monoi oil is a blend of pure coconut oil with the fragrance of the Tiare Flower (also known as the Tahitian Gardenia).

The word "Monoi" is a Tahitian word with the literal translation of "scented oil." This combination has been a Polynesian beauty secret for centuries. French Polynesian women have been using Monoi oil for AT LEAST 2000 years! The only place in the world that produces Monoi oil is Tahiti, French Polynesia.

Monoi oil contains no sulfates, parabens, silicones, phthalates or anything synthetic whatsoever.

The Benefits

Monoi oil is highly beneficial for both the skin and the hair containing moisturizing and soothing properties. The scent is very delicate and not overwhelming. Monoi has extreme reparative benefits for dry, damaged and color treated hair. This oil can not only help heal past damage to the hair, but also help prevent new damage - from mechanical, chemical or the elements - from happening. Monoi, like coconut oil, can help stop protein loss in hair which has been shown to help stop breakage so hair can grow longer and stronger.

Monoi oil has a high concentration of vitamin E which helps hair's elasticity plus strength and contains anti-oxidants which can help prevent free radical damage . It also helps significantly reduce frizz because of the coconut oil content. Monoi oil, like coconut oil, penetrates to the hair shaft which helps the hair's cuticle lay flat and stay smooth.

How to Use It
