If you've been battling your curls all summer and you haven't yet rocked a wash and go, STOP! You're long overdue for giving this easy breezy style a try. Not convinced? Here are six reasons a wash and go will improve your summer hair situation.

1. ZERO Skill Required

Like, none. I'm not a lazy natural because I want to be, or because I don't have the time. I just don't have the skill set and patience required to perm rod, roller set, bantu knot, twist and curl, three strand twist, and everything else. I have one style I can do with my eyes closed and get great results every time -- the satin strip braid-out. But beyond that, I'm completely inept when it comes to styling (I can't even bun consistently half the time, lol). The wash and go is great for us naturals who can't seem to get the hang of doing much more than applying product and walking outdoors to dry the hair. Once you've picked your product lineup, everything else is a walk in the park.

2. 7 Minute-Styling Time

With a wash and go you can get away without styling your hair for DAYS. If you rock a braid, twist, or bantu knot-out, chances are you'll end up re-twisting your hair a few nights throughout the course of the week. With a wash and go, zero restyling is required, unless you absolutely want to. I can go 3, 4, 5, and sometimes 6 days without washing and resetting my hair when rocking wash and go styles. At night, I simply apply a little moisture via Q-Redew, Camille Rose Naturals Fresh Curl, or Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Pudding Souffle, pineapple, (banding the front, because the shrinkage up there is a real beast), and hit the sack. In the morning, I take down, fluff, and slick a little Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Paste on my edges to finish my look. Seven minutes tops, from night to morning.

3. Multipurpose Style

Whether you're attending a wedding, business meeting, or gearing up for a day at the beach, the wash and go is incredibly versatile. Wear it super defined for a more toned-down look, or let it get massive and reach for the skies for a bolder, more carefree appearance. Or, do all of the above and start out with defined day 1 hair, let it get a little frizzy for day 2 and 3, and block the line of sight at the movies on day 4. You can rock this hair anywhere, girl!

4. Works for EVERY Hair Type

There's a perception that only ladies with certain types of natural hair can rock wash and go's. That simply is not true! You just have to find the products and methods that work best for your hair type. There's nothing your hair can't do!

5. It's Fool Proof

There's no wrong way to do a wash and go. In the shower, out of the shower, on soaking wet hair, on toweled dry hair, with a leave-in, with conditioner, using creams to define, gels, and jellies, and more... there's no wrong way to do it! Get creative and experiment with your hair, methods, and products! But if you're at a loss with how to get started, check out my 7 Secrets for the Perfect Wash and Go Video.

6. Better with Age

The older it gets, the more versatile a wash and go becomes. As wash and gos get older, they get bigger and stretch -- which means your hair is ripe with opportunity. Turn it into a frohawk, braidout, blowout, or schnazzy updo with a few bobby pins, a spray bottle of water, an edge sleeking product, and a little imagination.
