Hi searchingforideas - When I retwist my hair at night, I make bigger twists. If I want the look to stay curly, I will roll the twists on flexi-rods again. I only add more product if I feel my hair needs it. I usually don't need any more products for at least 2 days. If I don't want the twists to be curly the next day, I don't roll them. Then I put on a scarf and I am good to go! I can go a little over a week before I want to wash my hair and retwist it again. I can go for a week wearing different variations of a twist out - pulled back, curly, some pinned up, etc. Give it a try and experiment!

hello! thanks for the tips. i'm new to experimenting with my natural hair and recently i've gotten so frustrated that i've been contemplating going back to braids, although i really don't want to...

anyway, i was wondering about maintaining the look. my biggest problem is getting my twist outs to last...you said that you re-twist at night. does that means you do the entire process again? add product, twist, add rollers...then just put on a scarf?? if you're re-twisting every night, how long does it last until you've got to start the whole process again? has it ever lasted a week without looking all crazy?

thanks!
