DIY Whipped Shea Butter
Yes, you can purchase products with shea butter, but there’s nothing like the real thing—especially raw, unrefined shea butter. What’s great about raw shea butter is that you can make your own whipped shea butter and mix oils in it. It’s also fantastic sealer in it’s raw state. For centuries this thick, creamy butter has been used to help women retain length and preventing damaged from dryness, which can lead to breakage.
How to use it:
Simply heat raw shea butter in the microwave or on the stove, but don’t melt it completely as you don’t want to destroy the nutrient content. Next, whip it up with a hand mixer until creamy, add any other oil of your choice (less than the shea butter”>, and then mix vitamin E in at the end. Measurements don’t have to be exact but you should only need to use a drop or two of vitamin E oil; this helps to prolong the shelf life. Store your mixture in a cool dark place and use as desired.
