Gabrielle Dixson: Hi! My name is Gabrielle Dixson. I am eighteen and I am a senior at Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana. I would describe myself as a quiet girl with a loud mind.
NC: How and when did you start embracing your curls?
GD: After looking at old photos of me and seeing how pretty my hair was when I was a kid, before I started getting relaxers at age seven, I decided to embrace my curls. That was almost two years ago, at the end of my sophomore year. Now I love my type 3C curls!
NC: What’s your current routine?
GD: I wash my hair once a week and co-wash it once a week. I like testing different brands of shampoo and conditioner on my hair to find out which ones work best for me. Right now I am using Bioinfusion Curl Nourishment Shampoo and Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Replenishing Conditioner. I use Cantu Shea Butter as a leave-in conditioner and I use olive oil to seal in moisture.
