There's a few things that totally concern me with your experience . First the hair is dry when you apply it and second , were you under a hood dryer !? Because that's a serious no no . It includes the pre-treatment shampoo, smoothing treatment, daily shampoo and conditioner. It contains protein and Argan oil so the hair is moisturized and nourished as well as smoothed, strengthened and softened. An excellent treatment for all hair types. I had NO discomfort during the treatment (altho it did smell bad); I believe there was a fan nearby. Mine lasted much longer than quoted (my hair grows VERY slowly). I was told I HAD to buy the expensive Keratin shampoo & conditioner (not sure if it was a scam; it certainly added to the whole cost, but I didn't want to take a chance of ruining it). My results were that it took a much shorter time to dry and much easier time to blow straight, if I chose to. More importantly, if I left natural, it dried w/a looser curl (not my usual ringlets) and NO Frizz, even in humid weather. I described the look as when a person w/naturally straight hair gets a "body wave," as opposed to a perm. Wavy w/loose curls. It always scared me b/c it looked straight when wet, but then dried to a different look. Just recently I saw in a salon (also Ulta!) a brand-new "Express" version of the same Coppola treatment. It's billed as costing half the price, takes half the time, only has to be straight/unwashed for 1 day...but lasts only half the time. Since my "full" treatment lasted a good 6 months, $79 (a limited time special; normally costs $99) seemed like a perfect solution, since I can't afford high-priced treatments either. I did it 11/5/10 and was completely disappointed. I again bought the special products. These are great, btw, I even got a special Holiday gift set which came w/a FREE bonus leave-in product, which even works on dry, 2nd-day hair. However, the express treatment did NOTHING for me. When I complained to Ulta a few weeks later (I went back w/another coupon to get cut/color/blow pkg. for only $50!) I was told that the mini version is also "half the strength" and apparently too weak for me. Although a great deal, I still had to save up from several paychecks to be able to put aside the money for the $79 PLUS the extra products. So, BEWARE! The results were wonderful as long as I wore my hair straight. When I finally cut my permed ends, the front half of my hair did not curl at all and the curl pattern on the ends was extremely loose. I had the treatment February 2010 and cut it July 2010. I am trimming the straight ends gradually. My sister who has virgin hair also experimented with the treatment.
