This story was posted in the 4a section some time ago so I asked a friend who works for an airport about it. He says there had to be a reason for them to want to search her and it wasn’t about race. Also since reading this story several of my white straight haired friends have told me they’ve had their hair patted so I don’t think it was racial. I will say there have been times I’ve been subjected to a screening other passengers didn’t and it bothered me. Later I found out it was because I was wearing loose clothing. I think there would be fewer hard feelings if they offered an explanation.

They searched her hair because it was BIG, not because they saw her, and thought, “she’s black, therefore her hair must be searched.” Maybe she acted or looked a little suspicious, or maybe they just reeeaally wanted to touch her hair, because people are weird like that, but it wasn’t an act of racism. Get over yourself.

Nobody is searching my hair. lmao… seriously?? And for those who are putting weapons or whatev in their hair, don’t be so obvious. I think this is kinda silly, tbh.
