I only apply oils to wet hair, finding that it doesnt feel as good on dry hair.
My fav oil is coconut. I use it for pree-poos/sealing/shine/fragrance. This is my #1 along side castor, which I do infact use on dry hair.
Truthfully I dont know what olive oil does for my hair. I tried it as a pre-poo and it makes my hair feel greasy and as a sealant=more greasy. Idk if itll work for you. Maybe on wet hair, but I haven tried that yet.

I found that mixing sweet almond oil with castor oil, combats the thickness of the castor oil. Absolutely love this mixture.

A natural coconut oil, one without a ton of petrolatum, won't be very greasy...and I love the big fluffy effect too!

I've learned that raw shea butter is good on wet hair (not too much!), but it always seems too heavy and sticky when used on dry hair...it's nice and soft, but the heaviness/stickiness isn't worth it to me.

I've never tried castor oil - mainly because I heard that it's too heavy.

I have heard a lot of good things about sweet almond oil though...I might have to give it a try now!

Okay...

I like virgin coconut oil too, and I use it for my braid outs all the time. I co-wash my hair, apply coconut oil, and allow to partially dry. Then braid up!

Virgin coconut oil is also good for thinning edges. I apply to my edges every morning, and in three weeks my edges have come back!

I also like sweet almond oil. Over time, it has left my hair just naturally soft, and I like it!!

Castor oil is too heavy for me... don't see any benefits, don't like it.

Shea butter is cool, when applied SPARINGLY. Seems to hold the moisture of my leave-ins a little longer..

I don't like olive oil period. Unless it's for deep conditioning.

so funny that you said the coconut oil is non-greasy. I just started using coconut oil and i feel like it has been a bit greasy. Are there different types?
