The only rule I have when it comes to makeup is that rules are meant to be broken! As a makeup artist, I am inspired by color, by life and by nature, and I must confess, many, many times, by a set of wild Shu Uemura fake lashes!
When a client sits in my chair and proclaims, “I’m an Autumn,” “Warm tones look best,” or “I don’t wear red,” I feel it is the perfect time to step outside the box. This month, I referenced the masterminds of color at Pantone to bring you the latest and greatest in color trends. Fall 2009 is ALL about experimenting — “mixing your favorite timeless neutrals with color wheel opposites”! You can take your Truly Toffees and add a splash of Russian Red or pair Martini Green with Royal Blue or Purple. You can also mix Rich Teals with Honey Yellow when playing up your eyes or deciding what to wear! Iron has been labeled the new black and looks gorgeous when softened with a color that resembles Crème Brulée.
I love sultry eyes, and this season we can gently make a leap into something new by keeping our tried and tested favorites and adding a splash of vivid color.
