Keep out the chlorine this summer with these moisturizing conditioners

Don’t be scared to make a splash this summer! To fight the drying effects of chlorine on your curly hair, simply rinse it in the shower, slather on a moisturizing conditioner, and braid, twist, or put your hair in a swim cap before jumping in the pool. Hair that is wet already will not absorb as much chlorine, especially if there’s an added barrier of conditioner. After swimming, rinse out the conditioner.

    Hi!
    I think I’m a combo 3a/3b-I’d be a 3b but I have baby fine hair and not a lot of it.
    I call it an Irish Fro.I also color my hair to be a bit redder and to cover grays.

    I swim in a pool almost everyday in the summer and sometimes all winter. I also swim in the ocean when I can.
    I hate wearing a swim cap(although I make myself when I’m doing laps. I know I should use it all the time but it tears at my fine hair and hurts.
    I also wet and SLATHER a handfull of a mix of conditioners for color shielding and dryness.
    I also use Ultra Swim shampoo mixed with a moisture shampoo almost everyday.
    After all that, my question is: Is there anything else I should be doing to save the color and minimize the clorine damage?

    no, i honestly think you’re doing every thing right.

    as far as the cap goes, have you tried covering your hair with a small satin scarf before putting the cap on? sure, it’ll get kind of wet, but it’ll protect your hair when you take it off
