P.S. I have type 4c hair and it doesn't get defined with just gels, but I wet my hair and use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and then Ampro Pro Styler Olive Oil Gel and then diffuse. I get shiny, no-frizz hair that dries pretty soft and moisturized with no flakes.

@Noni863, to cut down on volume in mist and high dew-points, moisturize well of course, then use a gel with really good holding power let your hair air dry just a little and then diffuse or sit under a hood dryer. Check out tip 4 in this article: 5 No-Frizz Tips For Rainy Spring Days and the hard hold gel recommendations in this article: Curly Hair Care For Rainy Days (http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/curl-products/bring-on-the-rain-stylists-reveal-strategies-for-a-frizz-free-spring?page=3)(http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/frizz-control/curly-hair-care-for-rainy-days)
Hope that helps!

So, humectants right? Okay, that's definitely on the list. Although I can't enjoy my hair when it's bigger...any ways to cut down on the volume when I encounter mist and higher dew-points?

If you're looking for a frizz killing conditioner Aubrey Organics White Camellia Ultra-Smoothing Conditioner is king! I am protein sensitive but this conditioner does the trick. Also emulsifying a drop of honey with your leave-in as you apply is a great way to cut down on the spring frizzies ;)
