Sad to say, but I don’t believe America’s ready for a textured hair First Lady!! I give the First Lady kudo’s for allowing her daughter’s to sport french braids from time to time….

As much as I love my natural hair, and get so many more compliments about it than I ever did when I relaxed it, I don’t think Americans, no matter what race/ethnicity they are are ready for natural hair on a First Lady. Not every black woman instantly has an afro if her hair isn’t relaxed either! If a radio commentator can use the term “ghetto slut” to describe a congresswoman with a natural hairstyle in the 21st century (”slut”, by the way means a bad housekeeper, how does he know what her home looks like?)what can a First Lady expect to be called when her hair isn’t perfectly straight and “acceptable”?

I wanted to take the poll, yet I honestly don’t know if America is ready for a first lady with kinky hair.
Besides, I don’t know if Michelle’s natural hair is kinky.
