I remember the incident that took place years ago. I was only 15 years old. I am so proud of Melba Tolliver for standing up for herself. I feel that she did the right thing because none of us should have to change the texture of our hair just to make a statement. No matter what texture our hair is, we are still the same person inside and out.

I finally got the chance to meet Melba Tolliver Wed. May 20, 2009 at L.I.U. She is a very nice and down to earth person. I even got to shake her hand. She is very pretty and for her age she looks beautiful and so young. She still has that beautiful smile.

The event that took place was beautiful. I can't wait for the next one.

Love you Melba and may God bless you always.

P.S. Never stop being who you are!
