It’s so funny how with time things really change. When I was in high school all of the girls wanted perms, flat irons, and that straight wrapped look. My girls were not the “in thing.” but I didn’t go the perm route. I would pay (well my parents did) to get my hair pressed and or flat ironed to death for only it to be frizzy two days later because my natural hair was so thick and coiled.
Now that I am older everyone wants to wear their hair like mine and I get stopped constantly and asked “what do you put in your hair?” .. what an extreme turn if events. I love my curls. I have embraced them, and I am so glad their is a site full of people lke me who can celebrate the fact the natural is in and perms are out!

I really enjoyed this article. I am a virgin to the natrual. It’s been only three months since I started the transition from relaxer (yuk!) to natural (yayyy!). I’m so excited that I wish time would go by faster than it is so I can see my hair as it was when I was a child before my grandmother begged my mom to “do something with my hair”.
