Although the salon is now called Curl Revolution, it is still owned by Valdeh. I would highly recommend him to anyone with curly hair! He is an expert on handling curly hair, making beautiful curls with no frizz and teaching you how do achieve the same look on your own. He has a specialty curl cut which I have never seen anyone do, that really helps shape and tone down the bulk of curly hair! My teen daughter has curly hair and did not know what to do with it--now we have the techniques she can do herself.Go see him, you won't be sorry! His website is www.curlrevolution.com. He has great tips on the website too!

Valdeh is the curly girl's hair guru! I first met Valdeh at the Styling Hutch after looking on the http://www.ouidad.com/ web site for stylists in the DFW area who could do their specific cut for curly hair. I've been a faithful customer for all these years as Valdeh embarked on opening his own salon! I regularly recommend Valdeh to woman everywhere who are struggling to tame the frizz and learn how to style and manage curly hair...to the envy of all those straight haired girls out there! He stays on top of trends and always has the best products for curly hair. He's personable and really listens to what women are saying about the wants and needs of their hair. I'm a completely happy curly girl, thanks to Valdeh!

While living in NY, I had discovered the Devachan Salon and was instantly hooked. My last Devachan haircut was in August 2010 and I was in desperate need of a cut. Now living in Texas, and with no anticipated trips to NY in the near future, I had been prolonging getting a much needed haircut. I had read many reviews on naturallycurly.com for salons in the Dallas area, and decided to make an appointment with Valdeh. Since it had been a year since my last haircut, I thought I surely needed a "specialty curly cut". But after Valdeh looked over my hair, he determined I only needed a cut and style. In doing so, he had already saved me quite a bit of money! It immediately showed me his integrity as a stylist. Valdeh was so patient and explained to me step by step, how he was cutting/styling my hair. He even took the time to demonstrate some incredible techniques on his own hair to help me understand how to do the same to my hair. Although I have been using the Devachan line of products for the past 5 years, I have never been able to get my hair to look as fabulous (on my own) as they made it look walking out of the salon. Valdeh instructed me in several techniques to eliminate frizz... something that I still had issues with. He is an incredible teacher, and he truly helped me to understand how to apply the product (something which I was doing incorrectly), how to create volume at the scalp (something I was also doing incorrectly), and how to effectively eliminate frizz. After he cut and styled my hair, I was SO happy and SO impressed with the final result. I received so many compliments on my hair that day. After countless haircuts gone wrong in the Dallas area, I have finally found "the one" for my hair. I could not be happier and will definitely be returning to Valdeh for my next haircut. Honesty, integrity, and expertise... what more could you ask for? I highly recommend Valdeh!

Valdeh is as good as they get when it comes to curly hair. I went to the Styling Hutch (Ouidad Salon) in Plano for many years and although I was generally happy with the curly/ouidad carve and splice technique, they really only seem to do one hairstyle in different lengths. No bangs, no layers..just curly cuts with no real style. Ouidad, herself, has had the same hairstyle for 15 years! I left the Styling Hutch so that I could experiment with different styles, but the cuts I received weren't really great for my curly hair. Valdeh seems like the best of both worlds. I can get a haircut suitable for my curls, and still try out new styles. He doesn't seem to be bothered that I have a ton of layers...he worked with it. He didn't try to talk me out of shorter hair..he just went with it and still gave me a great cut. I understand that there are some cuts more suitable for curly hair and I'm on board with everything Ouidad says, but stylists married to Ouidad are corporate/restricted in what they can say and sell. It's just hair, and I want to have fun with it for a while and Valdeh is definitely the right guy for the job. He has the training but he's independent. Perfect for me. He's very intelligent and pleasant and I like that. I'm not opposed to buying whatever products he recommends, but I have a ton of Ouidad stuff left and he didn't upsell at all which I appreciated. Prices are reasonable...more than a normal haircut but it's worth it. All in all, a very good experience, and a really nice guy. I will definitely go back.

Valdeh's salon now goes by Curl Revolution. I found his salon by googling it... I was tired of trying multiple salons that all had stylists claiming to know how to cut curly hair and just having no clue. My latest 'do' was a one layered hair cut. with thinning shears. Not pretty.... Plano is a drive for me but it was worth it. He really does understand curly hair - he went through my hair when I came in, listened to what my concerns were, and just went to work. What I really liked is that he showed me the best tips on how to make my hair look like I had just stepped out of the salon every day. It will be a week tomorrow that I got my hair done and not ONE day has gone by without people stopping me and complimenting me on my hair. I now LOVE my curly hair. I seriously recommend him- no one else will be touching my hair from now on- even if it means an hour drive each way.

I just had my first appointment with Valdeh. I can tell you that all of the reviews of him hold true! He's incredible. I got my first haircut for my naturally curly hair instead of a cut for straightening it. It's beautiful! And it's so easy to do. He showed me so many different styling techniques and while he showed me the products he used and why, he didn't push them on me - there was absolutely no pressure to buy (which I did, anyway!). My hair looks awesome. It's so rock n roll and that's what I've always wanted and definitely fits my personality. He guarantees his cuts to come back for fixes or whatever for two weeks after, which I doubt I'll need to do at all. He asked me to call or text him whether or not I like my bangs after a while of having them. I mean, he really cares that I'm satisfied with my cut! He didn't just say "call me if you have any problems..." like they all say. He meant it. Not only is he excellent at cutting curly hair, he's incredibly nice! He was a joy to be around. I'm very shy and have a hard time holding conversation with hairdressers, especially when they're too busy chatting with another stylist instead of paying attention to me. I felt so comfortable with him from the get-go. He's very complimentary and very genuine. I'll be going to Valdeh for a long, long, long time and I couldn't recommend him more!

After reading so many positive reviews, I had to see for myself. I have never in my life been happy with any haircut, so I had nothing to loose. I booked my appointment, went in and met Valdeh. I could tell right away he knew how to deal with my type of hair (tight curly hair). He taught me how to style it and care for it as well. It has almost been a month since my specialty cut and not a day goes by where a total stranger comes up to me to compliment my curls (something I have never experienced before with my former frizzy, un-tamed hair). I'm now a customer for life!

I've been meaning to submit this review ever since I got my cut in March. I found Valdeh through this site. The rave reviews had me sold. So, I called up to make an appointment. During that first conversation, he asked me a lot of questions about my hair to determine what kind of cut I would need. I love that he didn't try to up-sell me or talk me into other services that I didn't want (color, highlights, etc). I got to the salon, and sat down in the chair while he checked out my hair. He lifted, teased, poked, pulled, and tossed it to see how it laid, where it was flat, where it was especially curly, where it was long, where it was short. He inspected my hair. He asked what kind of issues I had with my hair, and after an initial consultation, gave me a rough game plan of what he planned to do. At first, I was nervous because I'd only had 1 good salon experience, and that was overseas. It's only been in the past 2-3 years that I found a decent stylist, and by decent, I mean one who didn't make me cry. He appeared to be cutting my hair just like every other stylist. Then, my hair started to get dry and frizzy. At this point, the stylist usually frantically wets it down again to tame it. Valdeh just kept cutting. That's when I finally relaxed. If my curly frizzy mess didn't faze him, then nothing would. He kept cutting and checking and cutting and checking. He actually listened to me when I said one side curls tighter than the other and didn't insist on cutting it all one length. He's very personable and kind. Didn't ramble the entire time but was engaging, which I appreciate. After he finished, he re-wet my hair and spent 30+ minutes showing me how to fix it to get optimal curls. He didn't try to sell me any product. He just showed me how to use what I have to recreate this kind of magic at home :) I can safely say my hair has never looked this good. The man is a genius and is definitely worth every penny. I paid $85 + tip, and I would gladly pay more for this cut. It's been a month, and my hair looks great. Even on days when I don't have the time to do the full hair styling routine, it still looks good. I literally cannot say enough good things about him. If you are anywhere near the Dallas area, you must drive up to Plano to see him. He is definitely worth the trip!

I recently decided to cut my long, heavy hair short and when I got to Valdeh's salon, I was, of course, unbelievably nervous. Who isn't scared of getting short hair for the first time? I've gotten so many terrible haircuts in the past because many people don't know how to work with curly hair and I expected a repeat of those previous salons. Boy was I in for a surprise! Valdeh truly gave me the best hairstyle I've ever gotten in my entire life. My curls are now full of volume and life! I absolutely love it! Not only did he do the job extremely well, but he also made me feel right at home and kept me laughing the entire time. He's an incredibly kind man and I'm glad I was lucky enough to find his website. Also, being 15 years old and under enormous amounts of stress from school and extracurricular activities, I had forgotten some of the tricks he had shown me to maintain the beautiful "just got out of the salon" look. Valdeh was generous enough to set up an appointment to go through the steps again, free of charge. He told me that he understood how important it was for someone my age to be confident in the way they look, which meant a lot to me. I highly recommend him to anyone who has curly hair. He's by far the nicest and most talented hair stylist I've ever come across. :)

I was very nervous going into the salon. I haven't had my hair cut in about ten years. I have very long spirally hair, with a tight curl and it always gets ruined if I go to a regular salon. Plus, I have very thick hair, and it always ends up bushy. However, the job Valdeh did on my hair today was pure art. The bulk is gone, most of the length is still there (I had a lot of dry, split ends--otherwise, he doesn't take off a lot of length), and my curls have all the beauty of glossy, sexiness, without ANY of the frizz. He takes the time to explain the styling technique (things I never knew about styling my hair properly), and demonstrates it. It makes perfect sense when he does it, and you wonder why you couldn't figure it out after all these years! It's also totally easy to replicate at home. Valdeh is a great guy, fun to be around, and knows his business better than anyone I've ever met. You won't be disappointed!

Ladies of DFW...if you have curly hair, Valdeh is your man! Most of us with curly hair have a love hate relationship with our hair. Nine times out of ten we leave the salon and go straight home to "fix" what the stylist has done. I am here to tell you that I love love love my curly hair after today! I have never had such a wonderful relaxing haircut ever. Being in my very late 30's, I have have many scary salon stories!! My curls have never looked better. The poofiness that most of us experience is gone and believe it or not my hair is so soft! The best part is my husband loves it! Valdeh was wonderfully patient. He took the time to show me (yes took the time) how to do my own hair. I can't wait for tomorrow!

I went to Valdeh for a haircut based on his reviews from another salon (Styling Hutch, Dallas) where he used to work. He took the time to listen and understand what I wanted in a haircut and what works for my particular type of hair. Having lived near New York for many years, I frequented some of the best curly hair salons available. I can say without hesitation that Valdeh is equal if not better than some of those salons. I'm thrilled to have found him and I would highly recommend him to anyone with curly hair!
